Lt Col. Cy Wilson was reported missing in action in
Europe August 27, 1944. His plane was shot down
but a friend wtote to Col. Wilsons wife and reported
seeing him bail out and float down on a parachute
over enemy waters. He had flown 75 fighter
missions over enemy territory.
COL. WILSON veteran of 78 World War II
combat missions and for nine months a POW after
being show down in Germany, was killed in a plane
crash in Mississippi in December of 1954. He was
enroute to his base after spending the Christmas
holidays at West Point.
A dining hall at Bergstrom AFB Austin is named
"The Cy Wilson Dining Hall" in his honor.

This is the Dick Dunn who operated a platform for
loading of cedar fence posts and other woods onto
railroad cars at a location about a mile nort of
Muldoon. It was called the Dick Dunn Wood Spur
or the Dunnwood Spur. The concrete platform is
still there.

William Madison Scallorn Sr. of Tennessee who
arrived in La Grange in 1838 was one of the
trustees of Plum Grove Baptist Church. He was the
first Baptist deacon of record ordained in Texas. He
was ordained 11 July 1840 by Rev. A.M. Morrell
of Hopewell Church, first Baptist Church west of
the Colorado River.
