Soap V2 Younger Younger 28's: the bastard love child of the Human League, abandoned at birth. And quite rightly so. A weak, vacuous pile of nonsense. "Oo ooo oo-oo ee-ooo". Deep. And certainly as deep as it gets. You have to wonder if someone capable of writing these lyrics is capable of having a meaningful relationship with an inanimate object, let alone another human being. Tales of love, lust and infatuation, all told in exactly the same style 11 times over. The only track of any variation is closer In Between Days, and it's not even their own, an almost legendary track by the Cure. Choice line from Next Big Thing: "Just another girl from Suburbia". Choice line from Julie: "Just another girl from another town". Hmmm, a great deal of thought has obviously gone into this - well worth the cash. The entire album conjures up a dirty and desperate world, shell-suits and overflowing ashtrays everywhere. A world best left in the 80s. Avoid like the plague.
