Indiana Jones and the City of God was a school project created by TIM SULLIVAN and ERIK WOODS for an OAC English class. The topic was "Near Death Experiences" and instantly we thought of Indy.
The script was written in two days. Filming began during the March Beak in 1995. 6 days were spent in Albian Falls and Barton Secondary School getting everything shot for the mid-term deadline. Once filming was completed ERIK WOODS took the footage and edited down. Editing took one week to complete.
Indiana Jones and the City of God premiered in April of 1995 and received a mark of 100%.
This new adventure in the saga of Indiana Jones begins in 1939, only a couple of months away from the beginning of World War II. The opening action sequence takes place in Northen Africa where Indy is searching for a lost Water Stone which is believed to be a missing link in the search for Atlantis. But, of course, Indy runs into trouble from the local natives. Indy escapes with the Water Stone back to the University where he teaches.
After class Indy's long friend Marcus welcomes him back. But before Indy can relax Marcus has another job for him. Dr. Dunkirk, a long time associate of Indy's late father Henry Jones (yes, I killed him off... but it makes sense later), is close to finding the lost necklace of the City of God. The necklace apparently was put around Jesus Christ's neck before his burial but was stolen by looters. Soon enough the necklace was brought to South America where it was placed in the Lost City of God. Indy excepts the mission and meets Dr. Dunkirk.
As they search for the necklace (or The Portal as some people call it) they are attacked by Nazi's, who are ordered to find the necklace and bring it back to Hilter. During this fight Indy is knocked senseless and goes through a near death experience.
As Indy approaches the Gates of Heaven he is met be the Angel of Paradise. There she tells Indy that he has died and must join her in the afterlife. But, is Indy really dead? Indy is about to enter the afterlife when he is stopped by his father. Indy's father tells him that he must go back to his life on earth and stop the Nazt's from capturing The Portal. Indy is still tempted by the offers of the afterlife but instead returns to earth to battle the Nazi's.
On his return, Indy is captured by the Nazi's and Dr. Dunkirk, who was a Nazi all along. Indy is forced to lead the group to the location of The Portal. He does so on the advise of his father who told him that The Portal can be found behind the big waterfall and the base of the city.
They enter the City and Dr. Dunkirk quickly rushes to The Portal, picks it up, and is evaporated by the power of God. Indy then makes an attempt. Do to the fact that he believes he is able to obtain the prize.
The two remaining Nazi's and Indy exit the cave and begin the journey home. But Indy needs to escape and attacks the Nazi's. One Nazi is killed and soon enough the other one as well. But unfortunately, The Portal falls into the raging river and is picked up by a native boy down stream.
Indy goes home empty handed... again.
