Welcome

Join us as we wander the grounds...breathe deeply of the spring scents...heady and marvelous after a long, dull winter.
We won't stray far from the paths..
that adventure we'll leave for another day....Introspective thought is as natural as breathing along the garden walkways...
I invite you to entertain some "constructive" thoughts....

THE BRIDGE BUILDER

An old man going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide;
The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream held no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man" said a fellow pilgrim near,
You are wasting strength with building here,
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again will pass this way,
You crossed the chasm deep and wide,
Why build you this bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head,
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me,
To that fairhaired youth may a pitfall be;
He too must cross in the twilight dim,
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

~ Will Allen Dromgoogle ~

As you hurry through your day to day life,
I invite you to be a bridge builder.
Consider those who will follow on the path you have travelled.
Take care to leave it safer than when you found it.

HEARTPRINTS

Whatever our hands touch...
We leave fingerprints.
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes and books.
As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh please wherever I go today...
help me leave heart prints...
heartprints of compassion,
understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor...
or a runaway daughter...
or an anxious mother...
or perhaps a dear friend!
I shall go out today...
to leave heartprints...
and if some one should say..
. "I felt your touch!"
May that one sense be...
your loving touch through me!

If there is righteousness in the heart,
there will be beauty in character,
there will be harmony in the home;
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation;
if there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.

~ Chinese Proverb ~

The kiss of the sun for Pardon
The song of the birds for Mirth
One is nearer God's heart in the Garden
Than anywhere else on Earth

SOMEBODY'S ANGEL

Some say that angels come from God,
Borne here on wings snow white,
To touch some human being's life
While on their heavenly flight.

That may be true, for so it seems
To happen, now and then.
Some heavenly being reaches down
To touch the hearts of men.

But there's another kind of gift
That comes from God to men.
It happens when a human heart
Is filled with love again.

And this can happen any time,
On any given day,
If human hearts will hear Love's call
And let Love have its way.

But human hearts are often shy,
And fear what men would say.
They also fail to see how Love
Could use them in this way.

And so they miss the chance to be
Somebody's Angel when
A caring word, a thoughtful deed
Would've brought love back again.

So listen, friend, and heed Love's call
To help someone in need.
Somebody's Angel, on this day,
Just may be you or me.

~ Charles David Heineke ~

Extra Prayer

When the world falls down around you and a prayer will see you through,
Say an extra prayer for someone who may need it more than you.

For who knows what hearts are breaking in the silence of the night?
Just that extra prayer you whisper may help someone see the light!

Every time you help a stranger with an extra prayer -- or two --
You are building secret blessings that will all come back to you!

~ Nick Kenny ~

"Do you know that trees talk? Well, they do.
They talk to each other, and they'll talk to you if you listen.
I have learned alot from trees.
Sometimes about the weather,
Sometimes about animals,
Sometimes about the Great Spirit."

~ Walking Buffalo, Canadian Stoney Indian ~

~ WORDS OF WISDOM ~

Do more than exist... Live
Do more than touch... Feel
Do more than look... Observe
Do more than read... Absorb
Do more than hear... Listen
Do more than listen... Understand
Do more than think... Ponder
Do more than talk... Say Something!

Garden Of Your Mind

Your mind is like a garden,
Whatever you plant will grow.
Your thoughts are seeds you're planting,
They produce, each after its kind.

And you, just like a gardener,
Can choose which seeds you'll plant.
And by the choice of seeds you sow,
You choose the harvest you will reap.

So don't plant seeds of lack or fear,
Disease, discord, or doubt.
Plant, instead, the seeds you want,
Then things you want will sprout.

This gift of choice is given to all,
And not to just a few.
The harvest, friend, is in your hands,
The crop depends on you.

So take this power which you've been given,
And use it every day,
To gain from life the good you want,
For you have found the way.

~ Charles David Heineke, 1975 ~

A Day Worthwhile

I count that day as wisely spent
In which I do some good.
For someone who is far away
Or shares my neighborhood.

A day devoted to the deed
That lands a helping hand,
And demonstrates a willingness
To care and understand.

I long to be of usefulness
In little ways and large,
Without a selfish motive
And without the slightest charge.

Because in my philosphy
There is never any doubt
That all of us here on earth
Must help each other out.

I feel that day is fruitful
And the time is worth the while,
When I promote the happiness
Of one enduring smile!
