Those Moments

Those Moments
By Pixie

Willow buried her face in Oz's chest as the early morning rays of light peaked through his window. She didn't want to wake up yet. She was too comfortable and he was too warm.

In a place half-way between sleep and awake, she thought of him, for what was probably the thousandth time in the past two days. He'd been right. Everything *was* different now.

His arm was wrapped around her waist, keeping her close to him, almost protectively. He was still asleep, so the gesture seemed almost unconscious. She ran a hand lightly up and down his chest, blinking, and deciding she would sleep a little while longer.

And then the phone rang. She groaned, snuggling closer to her boyfriend. He awoke, shaking his head slightly, and then reached across his bed and grabbed the reciever.

"Yeah?" He answered, his usually nonchalant tone showing just a hint of his sleepiness. Willow remained in his embrace, watching as he listened. "Okay." He sighed, a few moments later. "Hmm, no, she's with me." He glanced down at Willow and smiled gently at her. She smiled back, and then resumed resting her head on his chest. "We'll be there soon." He hung up the phone, and then turned his attention to his girlfriend.

"I really don't like phones." She told him, yawning slightly. He smiled sleepily at her, and stroked an errant strand of hair back from her face.

"Neither do I." He replied. "Next time we get a few moments alone, I say we unplug all phonic devices."

Willow grinned, and cuddled up to him. "Sounds good." She laced her fingers in his. "Who was that?"

Oz sighed. "Buffy. She was right about re-location detail, we're supposed to meet at Giles' apartment within the hour."

Willow hugged the covers closer around their bodies and whimpered softly. "I don't wanna." She murmered.

He smiled. "A big me either from me. But we probably should."

She sighed. "I know." She replied, tilting her head up and kissing him softly on the lips. "Just give me a few minutes to wake up."

A grin slowly spread onto the werewolf's face as he gently nibbled on her ear. "I think I know of a good way..."

Willow's whole face lit up, as she brought her hand up to his shoulder and stared into his eyes. "Oh really?" She asked, laughing softly. She sighed happily as he nuzzled against her neck, and then began to place small kisses down her neck, towards her shoulders.

"Mmm-hmm..." He murmered, against her skin, his hands carressing her gently.

She leaned her head back against the pillow. "We can be a few minutes late."

"Can you people *ever* show up for something on time?" Xander asked, as Willow and Oz rushed into Giles's apartment ten minutes after they were supposed to be there.

Oz murmered an apology, and Willow shot her life long friend a look.

"Sorry! I'm a ... really slow riser." She gave Oz a soft smile, which he returned. The silent exchange didn't go unnoticed by the slayer. They both sat on Giles's couch, and stared at their friends.

"Since when?" Xander muttered, as he picked up a carton of Giles's books and began to unpack them.

"How can we help?" Oz asked Buffy, who was in the process of moving some of her watcher's things to the foot of the stairs on the other side of the room. Buffy made an "oomph"ing sound as she set the box down, and then turned to the new arrivals.

"Well, Oz, I think Giles said he could use your help in his office setting up your... cage." She paused. "Will, you can come with me? We're moving all of Giles's non-demony books up to his room."

Willow nodded, squeezing Oz's hand softly before standing up. "Sure."

"You'd think with all the time he spends working on the Hellmouth he'd give these books to a garage sale or something, but nooo..." Buffy griped as she and Willow hauled the last carton of books onto Giles's bed. They both sat down, and began to sort through them.

"Well, you never know when the craving to read..." She trailed off and glanced down at the book in her hands, "'Oliver Twist' will come... since when does Giles read Dickens??" She demanded. Buffy shrugged.

"Since when does Giles have the need for plastic ants?" She held up a small contained of the toys, and Willow giggled. The two friends were quiet for a moment. Willow could feel the question coming, it was only a matter of time.

"I wonder if he'd let me borrow this one..." Willow asked, distractedly, setting a book aside.

"So, you spent the night at Oz's?" Buffy asked, trying to be casual. It really didn't work out.

Willow glanced up at her friend. "Uhm, yeah." She pushed a strand of hair back from her face. "Yeah..." She murmered, again.

Buffy smiled softly at her friend. She'd noticed the change. It was a girl thing, almost like a glow that could only be detected by best friends who'd already had their first experience of complete love. "That's nice."

Willow nodded. "Very." She paused, and then looked up at Buffy, the excitement in her eyes telling her friend that she was about to spill all. "Oh, Buff..."

Buffy took in the sight of her friend. Her hands were trembling, but the smile behind her eyes showed her that she'd never been this happy. "What is it?"

"We... we..." She trailed off, unable to form words. She grasped her friend's hands. "Oz... I had sex with Oz."

Buffy grinned, and nodded slowly. "And?"

Willow exhaled deeply. "And... it was the best thing that's ever happened to me!"

Buffy squealed softly, and pulled her friend in for a hug. "I'm so happy for you, Will."

Willow clutched her friend for a moment before pulling away to look at her. "You don't understand, Buff! Or, maybe you do, but... oh, God, I can't even describe it! It's like everything inside me is swimming around so quickly, making me this big ball of happiness. And it's all Oz!"

Buffy watched her friend, feeling overwhelming happiness for her, but an underlying meloncholy. Her first time had been perfect, just as it should have been, and the love of her life was still around. Buffy only wished she knew what that was like. She shook her head, clearing the pesky Angel thoughts out of her head. "When? I mean, was it last night?"

Willow shook her head. "No, it was the night before graduation. You know, when we went back to my house? We were looking for spells and then I guess I got mad at him for being so calm. I don't think I was really mad at him, though. I was just... so scared, and I started babbling on and on and then he kissed me! And, oh Buffy, it was so amazing. I didn't ever want to stop. And he was so careful with me, and it was so... he held my hand, and... oh..." She trailed off dreamily. "I feel so different! So much... everything is clearer. It makes more sense. And I feel... I feel like if he got hurt, I would feel it. If something great happened to him, I would feel his happiness. And he would feel mine if it was the other way around. It's like we're part of eachother."

Buffy nodded. "I know, I know what that's like."

Willow stared at her friend. "Why do you think it's like this? I mean, I've loved him for a long time. Why am I just starting to feel this way?"

Buffy smiled at her friend. "Because you have a connection now. That's the difference with just sleeping with a 'someone', or if it's someone you truly love."

Willow smiled happily. "I do... I want to be around him all the time... it's like I can't get enough of kissing him or touching him or--"

"Am I going to have to have a talk with him?" Buffy joked. "He's turned my friend into a nymphomaniac!"

Willow laughed, softly. "No, don't worry. I won't jump him all the time or anything... atleast, not in public."

The two friends laughed together, and Buffy *was* happy. Happy that they finally got this moment together, just the two of them, dishing all the happiness that surrounds love.

Then something occured to the chosen one. "You did... I mean, you guys were careful, right?"

Willow nodded. "Oh, yeah. So far we've been careful."

"So far??" Buffy cried. "You mean... more than once?"

Willow was smiling so hard she was sure her face was going to be sore. "I'm not going to go into detail, but... yes!"

Buffy shook her head. "This is amazing. You've had sex more times than I have, and you just got started..." She smiled, softly. "But I don't resent that at all. I'm so happy you're happy."

Willow hugged her friend again. "I'm happy you're happy I'm happy." She sighed, again, leaning back on the bed and staring at the ceiling. "I want to feel like this forever."

Buffy lay next to her friend. "Stay with Oz and you probably will." The two friends looked at eachother. "I can see how right you guys are for eachother. I've seen it for a long time, Will. I didn't want to push you, to scare you, because I know that the thing with you and Xander was complicated."

Willow nodded. "Was." She thought for a moment. "But I realized the other night, when... when I saw the look in his eyes, and I could feel his love, like it was surrounding me... I realized what real love is. It's what I have with Oz. What I have with Xander is... a long, deep relationship. But it's not love. Not *that* kind of love anyway." She paused. "You were saying? Me and Oz? Perfect?"

Buffy giggled. "You guys just fit."

Willow smiled. "Like peas in a pod?"

Buffy laughed. "Like a witch and a werewolf."
