The Time Fate Finally Kicked In

By Julie

Xander kept thinking about what he had seen the whole walk home. He wondered if Oz was pressuring Willow, and if he should have just given Oz his " what- for " and let him leave. He got to his house and opened up his front door.

His parents hadn't been home either. But, knowing their slight disfuntion, he figured it better that they weren't there. Xander went into his kitchen and sat down at the table. He looked over at the phone and wondered if he should call Willow. You know, just to make sure she was okay.

He picked up the phone and dialed the number he had dialed so many times before.

It rang, and rang, and rang one more time. Then he hung up. He got up, opened the fridge, poured himself a glass of milk, and grabbed a few twinkies. He then went up the stairs to his room, shut the door, and quietly laid down on his bed; thinking.

Willow heard her phone ring, and quickly sat up.

Oz sat up just as quickly, and they looked at eachother.

Willow didn't really know what she should have done?! She'd never really been in this situation before. Oz was the first one to speak. "Would you like me to answer it?" he asked with a smile.

Willow realized she hadn't yet said anything. "Wait, one second." she said. She reached over Oz's body, and he thought she was trying to make a move or something. Then, he saw her grab the caller ID. She out it down and looked at Oz.

"Nope. It's not important." she wanted to get on with their date, and didn't want to be interrupted by "big brother Xander" making sure she was alright.

"Now, what should we do?" Oz asked.

"Well, we could watch another movie. Or, I'm kind of hungry. Would you like to eat something, in the kitchen, with me?" Willow got out, a little shy.

"As long as you're their, I'm fine." Willow blushed, and looked down at what Oz had just told her. She was very flattered.

"Shall we?" Oz asked her, standing up and putting out his hand for her. She grabbed it and they made their way into the kitchen.

"Okay, what would you like?" Willow said, pointing to the wide array of food in her pantry.

"Well, what are you going to have?" Oz asked her, as his curiosity soared.

"Um, I think I'll have a turkey sandwich and some chips or something." Willow mentioned as she was grabbing the bread and snacks from the pantry.

"Sounds good to me. Let me help." Oz grabbed soem of the snacks to help Willo, and he touched her arm. Willow noticed his touch was like fire. Everytime they had kissed, and touched, she had a rush of warmth and energy run through her.

She dropped the bread, and kissed him full on the lips. Oz was taken aback, and soon, he dropped the snacks and kissed her back. Oz started walking backwards, until he felt the chair behind him.

He sat down in the kitchen chair and Willow sat on his lap. She didn't know where this had started from, but his touch made her want to kiss him, made her have to kiss him. [ I guess this is passion ] she thought as she held him close, never wanting to let go.

Place: school, the next morning.

Xander was standing in the hallway by Willow's locker. He needed to talk to her, just for a minute. She was watching the corner she usually turned at to get to her locker. He saw her turning the corner, and then he saw Oz. He was right next to her, holding her hand, and then the stopped.

Oz was opening his locker and Willow was just standing there, smiling. He opened it, and he got his books. Then, before he shut it, she began looking in his locker. Then, she turned around, and right there, in the hall..... they kissed.

Xander could only stare. He would never, in a million years expect Willow to break a rule and show PDA in the halls. That meant detention if you were caught. And that wasn't Willow. Xander turned around, and just before he could run to get away, Buffy came up.

"Aren't they just adorable?" Buffy said happily.

"Oh, yes. Adorable. Took the words straight from my mouth. Nope, never seen anything more cute." Xander said, in a way too sarcastic voice for Buffy.

"Fine. I was making a comment and you had to put me down. Someone isn't a very happy little boy today." Buffy sounded like an aunt as she pinched Xanders cheeks.

"Buffy, that is great, but could you just leave me alone." Xander said that and was off. He would not hang around all these people who were just acting stupid.

"What's up with Xander?" Willow said as she and Oz came up to Willow's locker.

" I do not know?! Some bug died up his butt." Buffy said, looking at the path in which Xander had left.

"We'll talk to him later. Now, we have to get to class." Willow said to both Oz and Buffy. "Maybe it's some kind of phase?"
