Salem's Bringing

By Kristy

Night was closing in as Oz pulled into the Rosenburg's driveway. He was glad that Willow's parents weren't home, so he wouldn't be questioned like a fugitive killer.

He hopped out of his van, placed his car keys in his pocket and walked towards the front door. He dyed his hair back to red for the occasion, and he also had on a new bowling shirt he hadn't had the chance to wear yet.

He gently knocked on the front door. No response… < She probably has her radio on in her room or something >. He knocked once more this time it was louder, but not so loud that he would seem rude and impatient. Still no response. Oz began to worry.

He decided to head around the house to where Willow's French doors were so he could see if everything was okay. He peered in through the glass pane and saw his girlfriend lying on the floor unconscious. < Oh god, no! >

He quickly threw open the door and rushed in. He grabbed the limp body that and held her over his lap face up. "Come on Will, wake up". He patted her face gently. He noticed the bruise on her left check, and didn't want to hurt her. She twitched her nose a couple of times.

< Yes! Thank god >. Willow? Come on baby wake up. "Oz"? "I'm here baby". Willow started to get up, but fell back down again. "Careful Will. I don't need you getting hurt again". I am perfectly fine. I just bumped my head". < Oh man does he suspect anything >.

"Look I am fine. We do still have a date right" she asked brushing off what had happened to her not long ago. "Well, yeah of course, but if your not well". "I'm fine. Just give me two seconds and we can go".

"Are you sure" Oz asked concerned deeply. "I am positive. Just wait in the living room and I'll be out in a few. All right"? < Got to think positive >. Oz smiled at Willow. "Your such a little trooper" he said grinning. He stood there for about three seconds, then Willow gave him the signal to leave.

Once Oz was out the door Willow shut it. A grim face was now the only thing you could see. < I hate not being able to tell him the truth >. She walked over to her closet. She quickly decided on a long sky blue skirt that had butterflies and clouds on it, and a silky white tank top with a short sleeved cardigan to go over top. She quickly dressed her self, and checked her hair in the mirror. < Not to bad Rosenburg >. She turned around to head out the door but stood frozen in her place. There stood the same person that attacked her before. "You'll have to forgive me. I was so rude not to formally introduce myself before. My name is Nick. I thought you just might like to know my name, since I will probably be in at least a few of your nightmares". Willow shuddered as he casually walked by her and left her room through her French doors.

Willow stood there frozen in her place for a minute. < I have to hurry or Oz is going to worry again >. She quickly headed out of the room grabbing Buffy's beeper along with it, and walked to the living room where Oz was waiting. He looked up when he saw her enter the room.

"I'm all ready. Sorry about all this, I really didn't want to mess up your evening". He got to where she was, wrapped his arms around her, and gave her a hug for comfort. "Hey don't worry about it. I am just glad that all that happened to you was you bumped your head" he said squeezing her tight with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, good thing" she said looking like a sad, lost, little puppy. < This hurts more then you could imagine >. He released her from the hug. "Does your head hurt? We can skip the Bronze, and do something else if you would like"?

"Yeah, that place sounds way too crowed for me tonight. Maybe could we go grab an ice-cream, and take a walk or something" she asked trying to sound like it was her head that just hurt? Right now she really didn't want to be near people.

"Sure, I'll leave my van here, and we can walk to the ice-cream place" oz said as he held her hand, and started to walk out of the house. He paused for her to lock the door. On the way to the ice-cream place they talked about all sorts of things. Willow brought up the fact that Chevoxial was rising tonight, and how he could bring the creatures Buffy had slain back to life.

"Will Buffy be able to handle herself. Yeah she should be fine. She gave me her beeper in case she can't handle herself. So if things get really bad for her she'll beep me" Willow said as calmly as she could. Oz squeezed her shoulder to comfort her, but instead Willow let out a yelp.

He froze in his path, causing her to do the same. "Are you okay Will? God I'm so sorry. Did I hurt you?" he asked in a panic. Tears began to form in Willow's eyes. "What's wrong? Does it hurt that badly? Wait a minute… You said you bumped your head, not your shoulder. What aren't you telling me?" he asked sound concerned.

"Nothing" she said loudly on the verge of tears. "I don't believe you" he replied. "I must have hit my shoulder when I fell down, that's all. Why would I lie?" she said. < Because if I don't he'll kill you >.

"Well, okay if you're telling the truth then your telling the truth. If you're not well there must be a pretty good reason why, even though I would think that you would tell me anyway no matter what" he said in a last attempt to get her to spill. He knew that she was lying, but he didn't want to be the kind of guy that would force a girl to tell them the truth. They started to continue to walk towards the ice-cream place. The rest of the way was silent.
