Destiny is everything Realities replace you with the biggest, empty void I’ve ever had in life
****************************************************** “Yeah, Will! And I’m going to even be a remotely close dating candidate for Hayley?”

Willow looked at Xander quizzically.

“Does it matter? You’ll ask her out anyway!”

“Oh, good point!”

Xander glanced across the courtyard and caught a glimpse of Hayley.

“Gotta go, Will. Class!”

Xander jogged dreamily towards the blonde retreating quickly out of sight. Willow sighed. She’d tried everything; she’d dropped hints as frequently, if not more, that Buffy staked a vampire! But he hadn’t seen it. No! She loved him…that love was slowly drifting away. The space filled by emptiness. It felt horrible! The worst feeling she could possibly imagine!

“Hi, Will!”

Willow looked at her friend perplexed.

“Uh-oh, I see a friend in need of serious cheering up! What’s the matter, Will? Xander?”

“No.” Willow walked quicker.

“Buffy grabbed Willow’s arm,

“Ya know, Will, you can tell me any thing!”

“I know, Buffy, and thank you.”

Willow smiled tearfully. Buffy smiled and started towards the school again, Willow fell into step next to her.

“Anyway, then the vamp just kinda ran towards me and I…”

Willow tuned Buffy into the back ground and let her gaze drift towards the grassy area in front of the school where a few students were milling around, talking to friends, juggling books or running hurriedly towards classes they were obviously late for. She sighed, the normality of it all, all she had ever wanted crammed into the space she would have to face for the whole day. Her eyes skimmed over the people she saw every day and then landed on a guy with red hair sitting on a bench and playing the guitar. He seemed to be concentrating hard on a song, which drifted over in her direction and seemed to play itself just for her. He was cute, beautiful even and Willow felt the hot crimson blush creep up her neck.

“Willow. Willow! EARTH TO WILLOW!!” Buffy screamed in her ear.

“What?”

“Why the blushing?”

“What blushing?”

“The blushing you’re doing right now.”

Buffy glanced over Willow’s shoulder at the guitar playing red head.

“Ooh, Will, gotta a crush on guitar boy over there have we?”

“No…”

Willow blushed.

“Ooh! Willow and…what’s his name? And by the way, Will, I’m appalled you didn’t tell me about what’s his name over there…”

“I don’t know.”

“Huh?”

“I don’t know!”

“Don’t know what?”

“His name!”

“You don’t?”

“No…”

“Well, we are just gonna have to find out then!”

“Buffy, no! I don’t like him! I like Xander, I can’t betray him and anyway he looks like a senior and he plays the guitar, he could be dangerous! He might be in a band and bands is groupies! Bands is mobs! Bands is sex, drugs and rock and roll! He probably spends his spare time with…thieves!! He could worship vamps, he could be a demon! He could lead a double life as a…a…a…”

“Normal guy, perfect for our dear Willow! We can find him in the school’s files, come on!”

Willow groaned,

“Buffy, he could be a cat!”

“A cat?”

“A lion, or a tiger, or a cheetah, or…”

“A cat, Willow? A CAT!! That was the best you could come up with?”

“I didn’t have much time to prepare for this argument!”

“Not a good enough excuse, young lady!”

“Yes, Mom!”

“HEY!!!”

“Oops!”

Willow ran past Buffy into the school.

The End.
