Disk 1

Balamb Garden You wake up in the infirmary, where you see a mysterious girl. You talk to the doctor, who asks you if you are okay (I said I was okay) and then calls up your Instructor (Quistis) to pick you up. When Quistis arrives, you guys will talk, you can keep walking yourself down the hall and she will continue talking to you. When you reach the end, there will be a FMV sequence of Balamb Garden. You end up in your classroom, where Instructor Quistis talks for a while, about the upcoming test, and she also scolds Seifer for the duel between him and Squall. After class is over, Instructor Quistis wants to take you to the Fire Cavern and you are suppose to meet her at the front gate. At this time, you may go back to your desk and use the computer, where you can learn all your tutorial stuff and learn about SeeD and Balamb Garden, or you may leave the classroom. When you leave class and walk down the hall towards the elevator and a girl bumps into Squall and telling him that she is a new student. She asks Squall to show him around, (I said yes), and you go down the elevator to the lobby where you can access another computer that will show you all around Balamb Garden. (That way you learn about Balamb Garden and know where all the rooms are. Remember that you can access that computer anytime if you need it.) After you are done showing her the computer, (save if you like), talk to the people around the lobby and bridge and meet Quistis at the front gate (head south, or down on your screen).

Fire Cavern When you meet Quistis she will give you a few tips and you are on your way out onto the world map, heading for the Fire Cavern. Make sure you have set your abilities and such before you go into the Fire Cavern. (I walked around the World a little to kill some little mobs and got myself some levels and magic. I suggest drawing some blizzard spells because they will be useful in the Fire Cavern.) There are two guys standing in front of the Cavern and they will ask you for a time limit.. 20-30 minutes is plenty of time, you can choose 40 mins. to be safe (If you run out of time, it will be Game Over). Walk through the Fire Cavern, and at the end is Ifrit. When you defeat him, he becomes one of your Guardian Forces (GF). Now return back to Balamb Garden.

Balamb Garden When you reach the front gate of Balamb Garden, Squall and Quistis will separate, and you are to go to the "dormitory" (your room) to change into your uniform. Change, rest, save. Head back to the lobby where you will talk to Quistis, and she introduces you to your party (Zell, Selphie, Seifer) who are going to take a test with you in Doilet. Squall is part of Squad B and Seifer is the Squad Leader. You are now heading to Balamb City.

Balamb City When you reach the city, you are to go to the harbor (along the way you can stop by Zell's house, the shop or the hotel). Get into the ship, and you are headed for Doilet. FMV Sequence.

Dollet You are to patrol/guard the Center Square, so just follow Seifer who will lead the way. (Remember to set up your members with GF and Junction, etc..) Save. When you are at your location, Seifer asks you to check around - go to the top right of the path to fight two guards.. Seifer easily gets bored and decides to go somewhere else. Follow him, and he is headed towards the Communication Tower. When you reach the tower, you will run into Selphie who has a message for Seifer, but Seifer just runs off into the tower. Jump off the cliff and follow Seifer and Selphie. At the top you will fight Biggs and Wedge, and then the boss Elviole. (Draw Siren from Elviore! Siren is a Guardian Force. Should you forget, or not draw, you will not have Siren for the rest of the game.) After the battle, Selphie tells your group to withdraw back to the ship (you have 30 mins.), so RUN! You will be chased by this scary metal, crab-looking, machine thing, known as X ATM 092, so, RUN! It will run into you and fight you, and you will not be able to escape until Zell thinks that you guys should get away (Escape by holding L1 and R1 together and don't let go of it til you've escaped). Fight X ATM 092 as fast as you can, and RUN (escape) each time Zell mentions it! Nice FMV scene comes up when you reach the ship.

Balamb City Mission complete. You are now to head back to Balamb Garden - Seifer takes the car, so walk.

Balamb Garden When you reach the front gate, Selphie and Zell leaves. Go to the lobby, where you will talk to Quistis and Headmaster Cid.. there is an announcement about the results of the test, and you are to meet on the second floor. Take the elevator up, where you see other students there, talk to them, and someone will come to announce that Squall and Zell made SeeD. After the ceremony, talk to Headmaster Cid, who gives you a "Battle Kei", an item for you to be able to see your data during a battle. Now go back to your room (dormitory, located on the lobby map) to change for the party. Change, rest, save, and talk to Selphie. You meet Riona who asks you to dance, and there is an FMV Sequence (this is my favorite scene when they are dancing!). After the dance, you are on the Balcony and Quistis comes up to talk to you. Go change, and meet her back at the Training Room. At the entrance of the Training Room, Quistis gives you a few tips again, so before you go into the Training Room, make sure to set up your Junctions and GF, etc.. When you go into the Training Room, you can either go left or right, and either way, it will take you to the secret place that Quistis is talking about. If you go right however, you will run into T-Rex, and that depends on whether or not you can kill it. When you reach to the save point, save, and there is a door where you can go in. After you go into the secret place, you will have a talk with Quistis. When you are done talking to her, you may leave the Training Room. As you are leaving a training room, you will hear a girl shout for help, who is being attacked by a monster. You will fight the boss named Granald. After Granald, go back to your room where you meet Zell. The next morning, Selphie wakes you up to let you know that they are going to have their first mission. Go to the lobby, where you will get information about the Mission. After that talk to Headmaster Cid who will give you a Magical Lamp. (The Magical Lamp is the item to get Diablos, another GF.) Now head for the train station in Balamb City to get to Timber.

Balamb City The train station is where there is a guy sitting outside of the shop is. When you go left on your screen, you will be at the train station. Talk to some people outside of the train, and then board the train. Save. Follow Selphie and Zell into hallway. Then follow Zell into the cabin, and after you guys talk, you will feel sleepy and fall asleep.

Laguna Dream You are now all of a sudden Laguna, and you will play him for a while.. but all of Squall's status and his team members, are the same as Laguna's and Laguna's team members. Here, you meet Laguna, Kiros, and Ward. Follow the forest path (You are in Timber Forest.) and fight some battles, and get into the car, where you will arrive at Deling City. Go to the right of your screen, and follow the street to Deling City Hotel/Galbadia Hotel. Save. You may either rest, or you may go downstairs to the bar (on the right of your screen). At the bar, get a seat from the waitress and Julia will come to perform. Go talk to Julia and she will invite you to her room. Meet her upstairs in her room by going back up to the front desk and talking to the receptionist lady. You are going to have an interesting and amusing conversation with Julia. You are interupted by Kiros and Ward, and you have to go... You wake up as Squall, and you guys notice that you all had the same dream, but no time to talk about it, cuz you guys are arriving at Timber.

Timber When you arrive at the train station there is a guy who asks you a question, you are suppose to respond with the third answer (I think it's Owls in the forest are still the same?) and you are going to follow him. He leads you upstairs and into a train, where you are to wake up Rinoa. Go up the small steps into the hallway, and the first room to your left there will be a save point. Continue down the hall and you will meet Rinoa. Talk to her, meet her dog Angelo, and then follow her. There is a pet magazine in her room by the sofa. Now go back out to meet the others, and Rinoa will explain the plan of hijacking the president's cabin. You will have five minutes to: 1. Get on the "2nd escort" 2. Proceed across the "2nd escort" 3. Proceed across the "president's car" 4. Uncouple the "1st escort" 5. Move the "dummy car" and the "base" in 6. Uncouple the "2nd escort" 7. Escape with the president's car Although this sounds hard and complicated, it's really pretty easy. Practice typing in the codes; it's easier to be accurate than to type fast. Now, pass Watts, and go up the little steps to save, and then talk to Watts who asks if you are ready. Follow Rinoa across the trains, and when you need to type in the codes, I suggest you hold down R1 the whole time so you see the guards. Should you fail and be caught by the guards, a screen of dialogue pops up, pick the first answer, and you will try it again. When you are successful, and back in your "base" train, and save before you go talk to Rinoa. You go to the President's car and realize it's a fake. You are going to fight a boss named Namtal Utok. (Supposedly you can kill him very easily by using a potion or pheonix down since he is undead, but I haven't tried it.) You are now going to talk about the Communication Tower, and Rinoa, Zone, and Watts come up with a plan. Squall is going to read the SeeD contracts. Set your party their stuff, save, and then talk to Watts and tell him you are ready. Save. Talk to Watts, tell him you are ready to go. You are now in Timber City.. head right of the screen to talk to two people. Now talk to the lady next door who will tell you to go upstairs and look out the window. Do so. When you are done, go into Timber Maniacs, tell the lady you want to look around, check the magazines on the floor, and there is a draw point on the first room to your left, check magazines on the last room (the guy there gives you boring answers for all of your questions..) Leave Timber Maniacs and head east (right) to talk to people who will tell you about the Pub. Talk to a girl in front of the tunnel/doorway who will give you three secrets. (If you go through the tunnel, you can talk to more people about the Pub and the trains) Now go downstairs through the two blue posts and fight the guards. Go into the Pub and talk to the guy who is sitting by the backdoor.. tell him about the card and he will let you pass. Save. Go left, head upstairs, you are going into the Communication Tower. There is going to be a scene with Seifer and the President and such.. after that you are to go to Galbadia Garden. Head for the train station where you run into Zone dressed as a soldier, and he gives you tickets. Board the train and talk to everyone.. get off at the first stop.. go around the river and towards the two cliffs where you will walk into the bushy forest. There, Squall and his friends get sleepy again.

Laguna Dream You are Laguna and his friends again. I picked the second answer - I have a bad feeling, so they move out. Go left and follow the path. Draw point. When you come across the bridge there are Esthar Soldeirs who attack you. Go straight and across the bridge there is a draw point. Now go back to the first part of the bridge where it splits, and go right. Go down a ladder. (This might be tricky trying to get down.) Go down the path and continue following the path left. (Looks like you are in a cave now.) Try tampering with the second hatch you come across. Then go back right (the way you came from) and you will see an Esthar Soldier fall in. You can't go left anymore since the hatch is opened, so go right again and this time go up. Continue going up and you will run into a detonator. Press the red switch. Press the blue switch. Go up the stairs, and follow the bridge to another tunnel/cave to your left. Finally, a save point! Go north (up) (if you go right, you will end up back at the detonator) to check out the view and kick some more Esthar butts. There is now a scene to jump off the cliff to be saved!

Galbadia Garden Back to Squall in the forest. You wake up from the Laguna Dream, talk about it, and back to the world map mode. Go straight, and you see Galbadia Garden. Short FMV Sequence. Go around the center piece, through the gate, save. Go straight up the stairs and you see another set of stairs to your right up to the reception. But before that, go straight down the hall, and keep going straight until you are outside - there is a draw point. Now go back inside, and go up to the reception room. Go through the door where the guy is standing. Talking to Zell will trigger Quistis coming into the room. Quistis gives the news. Talk to everyone with Squall, and Squall will become very upset and run out of the room. Go downstairs, and head for the front gate where you will run into Rajin and Fujin. Go out to the front gate. Save. Have a talk with them. Go meet Quistis out front. You will talk to Martine for a while and you are introduced to Irvine Kinneas. Select your party members and you are back in the world map mode. Take the train right next to Galbadia Garden to Deling City. When you get to the train station, ttalk to the man on top of the stairs, pay for the tickets, and you are on the train. Small talk on the train.

Deling City When you leave the train, go down the escalator, then go up another escalator. Talk to your group members and go down the main street to talk to a guy to board the bus. Get off the first stop and you are in front of Caraway's Mansion. The guard does not let you in and tells you to go to the Tomb of the Unknown King to get a code to prove that you guys are really worthy. He also gives you a map of the temple. Then ask him to escort you out of town. After he has done that, follow the street left and you will be in worldmap mode. Follow the coastline and you will be heading northeast like you are suppose to. You'll be walking along a peninsula and shortly be able to see the temple ahead.

Tomb of the Unknown King When you go into the tomb, you see two people run out. Draw point to your left, save point to your right, entrance up ahead. The next few lines of going straight and right and left, is the path that I took, you may follow it, or do your own thing, either way, it takes you to get the code, and also to get the GF Brothers. From the entrance (after you go in) go straight, right, straight, right, straight, right, straight. It takes you to a mysterious statue (Sacred) and you fight him. He runs away at the end of battle, so continue your journey.. go down and out of the room. Then go straight, left, straight, left, straight, left, straight. You are now at the entrance. Save. Go back into the tomb, go straight and you will see a gunblade on the floor with the code that you need to bring back to Caraway. (Code varies from game to game!) Now go left, straight, left, straight, left, straight. Tamper with the wheel/pulley things on the left. You will see it move. Go back out of the room, go straight, left, straight, straight, left, straight, straight. There is a draw point. Go to the right and pull lever. Leave room, go striaght, straight, left, right, straight, straight, straight, left, straight. Outside of tomb again - save. Go back into the temple and go straight all the way until you see Sacred again. This time you will fight him and his brother, Minotaur. After you defeat them, they become one of your GF's. Leave the temple, by going straight all the way again. (If you don't remember your code number you will see the gunblade as you are leaving.) Save. Draw Point. Leave Tomb of Unknown King. Head back to Deling City.

Deling City Follow the street right, right again, and talk to the guy. Board the bus, get off the bus, talk to the same guy outside of the gate of Caraway Mansion. Tell him you are ready to answer and enter your password. (Put in your code backwards.) Follow him to the mansion. Save. Go into the mansion, talk to everyone... General Caraway comes in and you guys talk about Rinoa for a bit. Then he walks outside. Follow the General as he explains the plan. He stops at the gateway. Follow him back out, and take a right on the street. Follow the path, cross the street, and head back into his house. Squall and Irvine are now the Sniper team, and Quistis, Selphie, and Zell are the Gateway Team. Squall leaves and you become Quistis. As you walk to the door, Rinoa runs in and bumps into you. Talk with Rinoa and Quistis is going to get upset and leave. You turn into Squall. Save. Follow the others. They stop at the clocktower gateway. Talk to them, including the General, and they will go into the tower. Follow the general, and go down on the street. (Use the sidewalk since there are guards blocking the street.) Event starts and General Caraway leaves. You are Quistis, who decides to apologize to Rinoa (DUH! Can you already tell something is going to go wrong?) Leave and follow the street to your right, follow the path back to the mansion. Go inside.. there will be scene with Rinoa and her father. Quistis and her group gets locked in! You are now Rinoa. Go down the manhole (Answer: Maybe I should check?), down the stairs, go left until the end and pick up the Weapon Monthly Issue. Go back right, up the ladder and save. Climp up the crates, jump, go left and around, up the ladder, climb up the building. Scene with Rinoa and Sorceress Ednea now. FMV Sequence. Ednea makes her speech. FMV Sequence again. You are Quistis again. Look at the picture on your right, and the statue on the left. You will notice that the picture is of a woman holding a glass, and the statue is missing a glass. Get a glass from the shelf and put it on the statue. Go through the secret passageway. Set your Junctions and stuff, save, and proceed down the stairs. Go down the ladder, go left and hop on the wheel while you are on the plank. Open up the gate and go up. FMV Sequence - Run and follow Irvine during it. Save. Climb up the same way you did with Rinoa. Go up the stairs, pass the hatch, and rinoa is there. Battle with the two monster statues (forgot their names). Draw the GF Carbuncle from one of them. After the battle there will be a short scene with Rinoa. Then go down the hatch, get the rifle, and have another talk with Rinoa and Irvine. You are Quistis again (Gee, don't you love how often you change characters?) Remember to change your junctions (if they have been changed) as you will be fighting some weird monsters in the sewers. You are suppose to reach the end of the dungeon, where you will reach the save point. I do not know the exact directions, as it took me 40 mins. of walking around to find it. My suggestion is to draw a map as you are walking around. That way, you don't circle too much. When you reach the save point, save, go up the ladder, go upstairs again, where the parade is going to start. Everything after this is basically easy, because it is all partly FMV Sequence, and you are told what to do. When you talk to Irvine however, and he misses, make sure all your junctions and switches are made properly because once you are out of the menu, you will fight Seifer and Ednea without a chance to change in between. Congratulations, you are done with the 1st disc! Wasn't that just a teaser though? Now you want to know what happens to Squall! So play on...
