black man who lived on the Sabine River, became a columnist for the Many, LA. weekly, The Sabine Index. He became so popular that in 1966 a book of his writings entitled, James Stallworth: A Man Among Sheep, was published. His popularity grew and the White Citizens Council asked him to become a regular columnist for their newspaper The Counselor. Now his first book has been re-printed and revised. There'll never be another James Stallworth and his life and writings are well worth reading about. He was from an era and had an attitude and philosophy that we'll never see again.
