11/09/99: Nitro Results

Show opens with Sid in the production trailer, telling the hapless worker in it to play the tape he has given him when he gives the cue...could this be the mysterious footage of Goldberg quitting in their Havoc match that was supposed to be shown last week? Sid comes down to the ring area, walks around and yells for a bit, he's got that tall, blonde, and angry bit down good. Sid speaks his mind on the Outsiders, and reminds us that he has the brain of the psychopath...haircut too if you ask me. Sid says he'll get back to the Outsiders later, now it's time for Goldberg, and that he has his secret footage...it rolls, and it's a black and white video of Sid getting his ass kicked, until you hear Sid's voice yell "I quit" several times. Sid claims that's irrefutable proof and that he's still the US Champ. Wolfpac music hits and out come the Outsiders, Hall paying tribute to Walter Payton by wearing a 34 jersey, and tribute to himself by wearing the US Belt. Hall asks Sid "Hey Einstein, if you're the US Champ, how come the belt is...down here?!" Scott reminds Sid that he beat him, and Sid says that he got screwed since Hall was supposed to lay down. Hall responds that that's not the way that the Kliq works, since Scott Hall lays down for no man. Crowd pops for the mention of the Kliq. Nash says for Sid to not get his panties in a wad, that no Outsider hit him upside the head last week, that Sid's issues are with the Canadian Hero, Bret Hart. Hart comes out, with no limp, and says that Nash likes to talk about panties a lot, which makes sense since Hall, Nash, and Sid are 3 big pu***es, and that before this night is over, Hart is going to take the US Belt and give it to Goldberg himself...I smell a setup here. Hart starts to walk to the ring, where he gets jumped by Sid, but Goldberg runs in from behind to make the save, whipping Sid into the ropes and spearing him. The Outsiders left the ring right when Hart jumped in. Bill gets the stick and has a few choice words for Mister Vicious, and says that beating him bloody at Havoc wasn't enough, that he wants an I quit match, Sid agrees. Bill says that if the Outsiders want to play games, he's got a game, called hide and go seek. He tells them to go hide, and he will come and do Sting's music, that is...Seek and Destroy. Tony recaps the Tournament pairings tonight...including Benoit vs. Madusa, Buff vs. Vampiro, Curt Hennig vs. Jeff Jarrett. All that plus Sting takes on Goldberg in a return match. Cut to the back where Tenay is interviewing Sting, who says that Total Package set him up, and that he'll take care of Goldberg tonight, noting he has his trusty bat by his side. Replay of David Flair's car bump from last week is shown, then a quick cut to Kim in the garage telling security chief Dellinger that D Flair is stalking her and she wants him to take care of it. In the ring are those dirty beasties, the lovable and fan friendly Filthy Animals. Konnan mumbles something dumb, then Eddy says a few meaningless things, then Rey mentions something about humping them like the dogs they are. Malenko comes out with Chyna...err Asya, and tells Rey that Asya could eat Rey Rey for lunch, and that tonight he challenges Rey and Torrie to a tag match with him and Asya. Hot damn Torrie is, well, HOT. Tony announces that there will be a Texas Tornado Ladder Match for the US Belt tonight, between Hart, Hall, Goldberg, and Sid. Match 1: Screamin' Norman Smiley vs. Kidman WCW Title Tournament Match Normie comes out in full hockey gear, Nasty Knobs comes out for commentary. Knobs comments often about how he is the real king of hardcore. Smiley gets the early advantage against Kidman, but Hart distracts the ref while Knobs breaks a hockey stick against Smiley's back, then tosses him back in the ring allowing Kidman to earn the pin and advance. Winner: Kidman Stinger is backstage looking for his good buddy Flexy Lexy, who is in disguise in the laundry room talking to Liz. Crazy Psycho David Flair is shown entering the building with some crazy hair, a crazy look on his face, and a crazy crowbar...oh that wacky guy! Backstage, Hall and Nash are visiting a hopefully more talented makeup artist who is arranging Nash's costume this week. Sting comes down to the ring and gets the mic, and calls out Luger. Luger's music hits and out comes Liz, who definitely falls into the VILF category. She hops in the ring and says she's here to apologize on behalf of Package for what happened last week. Sting grabs her by the shoulders, and says he notice that she's been working out, like Luger, that she's got a nice tan, like Luger, maybe she's the female version of Luger...out comes Luger. Luger says that their friendship is important to him, and that they can work this out. The fans boo mightily, and Luger says that not to listen to them, and that he wants to apologize man to man, that they need to be a team again. He wants Sting to give him a hug...aww. Sting goes to hug him, but puts him in a chokehold and tells him that if he ever tries to swerve him, he'll get him. Crowd Sign: I want to show Kimberley my spear. Quick cut to the locker room, where Kim has arrived and is getting situated, when the lights go out, and D Flair's voice is heard, asking if she remembers him, not to be scared, this won't hurt at all. Match 2: Chris Benoit vs. Madusa WCW Title Tournament Match Benoit says he doesn't want to wrestle her, and tells her to lay down so he can pin her and get it over with. Madusa refuses, tries to wrestle him, but he just pushes her away. While Benoit argues with the ref, Madusa jumps him and has a slight advantage, ending with a hurricanrana. Benoit recovers and hits the knife edge chop, which probably didn't hurt him too much. Evan Karagias comes out to the ring and pulls the ref out. He tries to jump back in, but Evan pulls him out again. Evan punches the ref, the ref fights back. While they're fighting, Double J comes into the ring and starts messing with Benoit. The ref calls for the bell, DQ'ing Madusa. Jarrett gets the mic and tells Madusa this isn't the WWF and that they don't fight women here, at which point Madusa begins to beat on Double J, which forces him from the ring and prompts him to inform her that he has just screwed her out of the tournament Winner: Chris Benoit Y'know, a Benoit/Double J feud wouldn't suck...Chavo is shown backstage talking to the "powers to be" about his opportunity, while "Creative Control" (aka the Harris twins) looks on. Mr. Power tells Chavo that his opportunity is in a briefcase. Chavo opens it and sees a bunch of sandwich stuff. Power tells him to get the hell out of his office. After commercial, Duggan is shown with his opportunity, cleaning out the powers' to be toilet to pee. Match 3: Disco Inferno vs. Rick Steiner The match isn't even a few minutes old when the mysterious man from last week comes out and provides commentary, telling "Tony Baggadonuts" to shut up. He introduces himself as Tony Marinara, and says that he wants his money, that he's sick and tired of being sick and tired of that guy (Disco) Marinara clocks Disco, giving Steiner the match after the pin, while outside the ring, Marinara is chasing Disco around with a bucket of concrete. Does this mean that Steiner has unified the TV belt and Cruiser belt? I mean, if Disco is a Cruiserweight, then Rick Steiner sure as hell can be... Winner: Rick Steiner Both Sting and Goldberg are shown backstage getting in some last workouts before their match Backstage, Hall is chilling with some riot squad cops, when Nash comes in with some plaid pants, a funky looking jacket, a turban, and proclaims himself to be the grand wizard of wrestling, and that he's Hall's manager. Hall says he feels bad about what happened to Sid, Nash says don't worry, he has a plan... In the ring, Mean Gene is intro'ing the Nitro Girl contest finalists, who go over their names and cities and do a cute little routine. AC Jazz comes out and tells them to clear the ring, that they are the Nitro Girls, and that these girls are Nitro Girls wannabes, that they are sluts and skanks. Jazz runs down the contestants. Spice comes out and confronts Jazz, spouting the classic line "you wanna go, let's go...hoe" The rest of the girls hit the ring and a battle royal breaks out. In the back, Kimberley is on the run from D Flair. Tony announces that the I quit match is signed for Mayhem. Some weird music hits and out comes Dustin Rhodes in his supposedly dead supernatural U-taker like gimmick. The lights die, the smoke starts, and Rhodes is literally floating to the ring, with no visible wires. Verrrrrrrrry Nice. He floats over the ropes into the ring. Rhodes gets the mic, and tells everyone to take a long look at his get-up, that he left the WWF for gimmicks like this. He tells everyone that if they didn't know, he was Goldust in WWF and that Goldust sucks. He says he came to WCW because that's his home, and all he wanted to be was himself, but that the powers that be told him that Dustin sucks, that this is his gimmick, and oh by the way, his name is Seven. He tells the powers that they can shove "Goldust" up their asses, that they can shove "Seven" up their asses, that they can kiss his ass. He tells the crowd how after 25 years, WCW fired his father Dusty, and that WCW has disrespected the Rhodes name for the last time. He says that they have to deal with him now, and he is going to make WCW, TNT, everyone's life hell, and that after tonight, no one will ever forget the name....(crowd yells Goldust)...Dustin Rhodes. Niiiiiiiiiice job, kinda reminds me of the Beaver Cleavage angle drop, which is sad, since the costume was friggin' sweet. Sting and Goldberg make their ways to the ring, D Flair is still tracking Kim, and is in the same room as her, but can't see her hiding. Wizard Nash and Hall and cops are trying to get a hold of Sid, but he's not answering his door again. I could be completely off, but the costume and high pitched voice seem just a little like Jerry Lawler. Luger is shown telling Liz that he's going to make it up to Sting..hmm, wonder how...oh well, next match: Match 4: Sting vs. Goldberg Halloween Havoc Return Match Imagine that, Goldberg whupping ass. Stinger goes for the early sleeper hold. Luger and Liz come to the ring. Ref gets a bump, and Liz is trying to mace Goldberg in the face, but Luger takes it and sprays Sting instead. Goldberg hits Sting with a spear, then looks around as if he's confused, then lays on the Jackhammer for the win. Winner: Goldberg Hall and Nash are backstage talking to Sid, and they donate the two security guards to Sid as security for the match tonight as a peace offering from the Outsiders. Luger is walking backstage with Liz, and they find Duggan mopping the floor. Lex says he's glad that Duggan found another job within the company, then steals one of the wet floor signs, setting someone up for a trip and fall... Kim finds a WCW security guard and tells him that some psycho is after him and she doesn't know what he'll do. The guard turns around and says he knows what he'll do...since the guard is David Flair. Tenay is interviewing Vampiro and the Misfits, Vamp's got some sweet makeup deal going on, looks sorta like Lattimer from "The Program" if you've seen it. Match 5: Vampiro w/Misfits vs. Buff Bagwell WCW Title Tournament Match Buff gets jumped by the band before the bell, but recovers and clears house on Vamp and the Misfits. After the ref takes a small bump, Berlyn and Bodyguard come to the ring and nail Vampiro with a chain, setting him up for the Blockbuster and pin. Post match, Guard is in the ring confronting everyone in sight while Berlyn heads backstage, only to get jumped by Creative Control on the entry way. Winner: Buff Bagwell Backstage, Luger is injured after slipping on the wet floor. Oh the irony. He asks the medics whether it's his ACL, MCL, both..they reply they can't find anything wrong with his knee, and that he needs medical attention... Match 6: Saturn w/Revolution vs. Bret Hart WCW Title Tournament Match Shane Douglas is special commentator, calls Hart a washed up has been. No real advantage early, but Saturn starts to work on the supposedly injured leg. Saturn slaps on a submission hold to no avail, Tony informs Douglas that the Revolution has been banned from the ring area during the mixed tag match, which infuriates Douglas just a little bit. Hart gains advantage and works Saturn over, Asya tries to interfere and distracts the ref, allowing Douglas to rush the ring and nail Hart with his cast. Saturn hits Hart with the DVD, but Hart kicks out at two, prompting screams of "NO NO NO" from Douglas...damn he's good on color commentary. Hart gets tossed out of the ring, allowing Malenko to beat him down until Benoit makes the save..back in the ring, Saturn goes outside and nails Benoit and Malenko. Saturn back in, falls victim to the Sharpshooter. Winner: Bret Hart Backstage, Kim is trying to get in and see the powers that be, but are denied access by Creative Control...Hall and Nash are chilling in their locker room wondering about any post show festivities. Nash says that Hall is too worked up about his matches, and that he's going to take his mind off of it. He puts the costume back on and asks "for the envelope please" ala the old Johnny Carson show. He puts the envelope to his forehead and says that the answer is 316 (or 3:16, however you wish to interpret it) and he opens the envelope and reads the question: "How many times has the Undertaker worked a main event match in a PPV with Austin?" Luger is shown taking it easy on his "hurt knee" Harlem Heat's music, and out comes Booker T. Tony announces that Stevie Ray was suspended by the powers because he lost to Bagwell last week. T gets the talking stick and says he has a couple things on his mind, Creative Control and Jarrett. He tells all three to come out to the ring, or he will unbutton his sleeves, walk backstage, smack Jarrett in the face, bring him out to the ring and whip his ass on TV. He says the powers could suspend his brother, but he'll suspend their damn lives, and calls out all three for a Harlem Streetfight. Jarrett comes out and proceeds to sit down for commentary. Double J says that he whupped slappy out of the tourney last week, that Creative Control can do it this week. Match 6: Booker T. vs. Creative Control Harlem Street fight Momentum goes back and forth, until Double J jumps in and wants to nail Booker with the guitar, until a woman hits the ring to make the save, only to get jacked in the face by a guitar from Jarrett (geez, I feel like I'm rewriting a RAW report...) That apparently ends the match, if it even was one, and I have no clue about who won, but the girl that hit the ring looks like a loser to me...Booker helps her from the ring Malenko/Asya and Rey/Torrie are shown leaving the backstage for the ring. On a unrelated note, if you like Spice's official site at www.prowrestle.com/spice check out www.teribyrne.com, the just opened site for Nitro Girl Fyre. Hall and Nash are in the hallway with the cops. Nash sends Hall into the locker room and explains his plan to the riot cops. Luger is talking to Tenay and says that he is too injured to fight Sid tonight, to which Tenay replies that the Powers have told him that if Luger doesn't fight Sid, he's out of the Title Tournament. Luger tells Liz to take care of it, and they leave... Match 7: Rey Mysterio Jr. & Torrie Wilson vs. Asya & Dean Malenko Torrie, not being wrestling knowledgeable, starts to take off her pants until Rey unfortunately stops her. While Dean and Rey are fighting, Asya handcuffs Torrie (fantasy #1) to the ropes, and starts to beat on Rey. Malenko's back in beating on Rey Rey. Rey stuns Malenko, then threatens to hit Asya, but won't do. She turns her back and Rey dropkicks her off the apron. Rey goes for a bronco buster on Asya, but she moves and he's hurt. Owwww. Malenko applies the Texas cloverleaf, but instead of turning him over to do it, hops in the air and forces Rey over. Rey submits and Dean holds the hold for awhile...The Animals come to the ring, clear out the Revolutionaries, free Torrie with the bolt cutters, and tend to Rey Rey. Winners: Dean Malenko & Asya Sid is heading to the ring, escorted by the riot cops, who I bet have a little surprise in store for him... Kim is hiding backstage in the shower room, when one of the faucets come on and here come D Flair "Deja vu, isn't it? Only this time it'll be more than a spanking." Flair plays the nutcase pretty damn good... Match 8: Sid Vicious vs. Total Package Liz rolls Lex out in a wheelchair, who says he can't wrestle tonight, but he hopes he feels better in time for his tournament match next week. Sting comes up from behind and scares Liz off, then rolls Luger to the ring, beats him around, and tosses him in for Sid to beat on. In an attempt to save Luger, Liz hops in and sits on Luger. Sid picks her up and puts her somewhere else, then beats the hell out of Luger some more. The riot squad is at ringside, but parts like the Red Sea when Goldberg runs out, spears Sid, spears Luger and that's that. Result: No Contest Tony announces that a chain match between Vampiro and Berlyn has just been signed for Mayhem, and that the winner of the following match will go on to Mayhem to face Norman Smiley for the Hardcore Championship. Match 9: Brian Knobs vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Hardcore no DQ match Norman is the special commentator and follows backstage once the match moves there. Hart and Knobs try to jump Norman but he runs away crying about being just the commentator. Bam Bam is beating Knobs and Hart up backstage with trash cans and such. Kim runs up to Bam Bam and begs for help. Bam Bam takes her and runs off while Norman beats on Knobs. Knobs wins by some sort of backstage countout (must be the ten second off camera rule?) Norman tosses Knobs into a trash bin and rolls him out of the building Winner: Brian Knobs Backstage, Bigelow is looking for David Flair, and I swear he says "You wanna pick on a girl? Pick on me!" I could be wrong though... Match 10: Scott Hall w/ Wizard Nash & some riot cops vs. Lash LeRoux WCW Title Tournament Match Good match, Bobby is selling Lash heavy...Hall in charge early on, Lash gets the advantage and knocks Hall out of the ring, prompting wizard Nash to ask if he needs some help, Hall refuses, gets back in and takes the momentum, applying an abdominal stretch with a right leg pull thrown in for good measure. Hall chokes Lash on the ropes, breaks the hold, and Nash nails Lash. Lash starts a comeback with the axehandle, then a few aerial moves, tries the Bourbon Street Blues, but gets hit with a clothesline instead. LaRoux tries a cross body but gets caught and hit with a fall away slam, followed with the Outsider's Edge for the win. Winner: Scott Hall After the match, Nash surrounds the Outsiders with the riot squad to defend against any possible Goldberg interference, then tells the guards to clear the ring. One guard is left, and when Nash tries to lift his mask to toss some powder in, the guard slaps it back into his face, blinding Nash. The guard takes off his helmet - It's Guardberg! Err..Goldberg! - and spears Hall, then spears Nash. Match 11: Curt Hennig vs. Jeff Jarrett WCW Title Tournament Match Hennig beats up Double J early, but Jeff counters with a few quick inside cradles, all for two counts. Both men go to the outside, Hennig constantly badgers the ref, as he thinks they are all against him. Double J works over the left leg and knee of Hennig, and Creative Control come and stand in the entryway. Jeff tries the figure four, but Hennig counters and starts a comeback, gets a two count. Jarrett goes for the russian legsweep, but gets shoved into the ref. Hennig applies the Hennigplex, but the ref is still out, so Creative Control come out and destroy the broadcast table with Hennig, breaking it on a bodyslam. The ref starts counting Hennig out, and Creative Control tries to get him back to the ring, but Hennig successfully waits it out and succeeds in not getting pinned, therefore keeping his job. Winner: Jeff Jarrett Backstage, Kim is shown heading to the ring. Tony and Bobby are now sitting on folding chairs with no table to broadcast from. Kim gets the mic and calls out David Flair. She says she's finished running from him, and that this has to end right now. If he wants her (I know I do...) he has to come out and do whatever he's going to do in front of all these witnesses. Flair comes plodding out to the ring, with his crazy face on..Bigelow runs out and jacks Flair from behind, until Flair gets in a kick and some shots with the crowbar. Kim runs from the ring and hops the rail and leaves the building, with Flair in zombie like pursuit...Cameras cut to the parking area, where Kim is fumbling to get into her car with Flair close behind. Kim gets into the car, but Flair climbs up top and starts shattering windows with the crowbar, until Creative Control makes the save, chasing Flair off. Control tells Kim that the powers that be are ready to see her now. Perfect timing... Match 12: Scott Hall vs. Sid Vicious vs. Bret Hart vs. Goldberg Texas Tornado Ladder Match for the WCW US Heavyweight Title Hall and Vicious start the match, Hart comes hobbling out, soon followed by Goldberg...the mystery referee hasn't shown himself yet. Hart hits Hall with a Russian leg sweep, Vicious beats down Goldberg. Special referee Nash comes out with the ladder, Goldberg gets a hold of it and lays out Hall with it. Tony announces that the powers that be have signed a match for Mayhem between Kim and David Flair. Goldberg brings the ladder to the ring, but Sid nails him and takes it. Hart and Hall are going at it, Sid tries to climb the ladder, but Goldberg stops him. Rick Steiner comes out and bulldogs Sid, then starts beating down Steiner...Sid's down, Hall's down, Goldberg's fighting Vicious, so Hart gets the belt off the hook, but Nash nails Hart with a bat and hands the belt to Scott Hall. Winner and new US Title Champ: Scott Hall
