Here are a few Pictures of my new Saturn. It is built from plans using foam construction. It is powered by a PA 61 on a Smith/Werwage pipe. The finish is DuPont Chroma Color and Chroma Clear. It weighs 60 ounces.
The plane was built exactly by the plans except for a modification to the stabilizer. It is a built flat Stab with a round leading edge. There was also 1/2" added to the chord. These changes were made after a discussion with Bob Hunt about what would help it perform better.
Here is a picture of me and the plane at the Tulsa Gluedobbers contest in October 2000. (note cast and pins in the left arm, OUCH!!!)
Here is the plane just a few minutes later after a landing mishap. When you land on your feild box this can be the result. It seems like it is repairable. I haven't got a chance to try yet with my arm in its current condition. I hope to be working on it by mid November.
