Foggy Morning Song
Fog shrouded early morn
when I woke to horns
sung by the Ladies at sea
Each one distinct
as a fingerprint
Their song melancholy
yet toned in warning
"Over here, I'm here"
replayed replayed
and in answer
"I hear you, I'll stay away"
They slid cautiously into
the cool dense mist
Romantic tunes fading
farther away
I could not see them and
stood nervously watching
the blanket of cloud
"Over here, I'm here"
sang the Ladies unafraid
"I hear you, I hear you"
whispered my breath
