THE HOUSE

Housewarming

Improvements

Floor Plan | Our Trips Our Wedding |

Our very first home improvement was done on May 27, 2002! We replaced the wood gables with vinyl siding.

We no longer have a green house! On July , 2002 our house became "Soft Wheat" thanks to Mitchel Painting. Unfortunately we have a Homeowner's Association that insists on requiring all improvements to be approved and wouldn't you know it they have a small list of exterior colors that are the only approved colors for the housing development. Our original color was "Farm Fence" which is a dark chocolaty brown, much like the color of this page! "Soft Wheat" was the only brown color available for us to choose from. We were a tad bit disappointed at it's peach appearance once it was applied to the house, but hey, it's better than GREEN!!!

While on vacation in Pennsylvania (Aug. 30th to Sept. 14, 2002) we bought a chandelier! We promptly hung it, with help from Dan, on Sunday Sept. 15th! It is in our dining room with our new china cabinet and dining set!

Thanks to Uncle Mark, Aunt Faith & Jacob, and Aunt Sylvia & Uncle Jim, who gave us Home Depot gift cards for housewarming gifts, we were able to "pep-up" our guest bathroom! This project began on Saturday September 28, 2002. The theme of the bathroom revolves around the silver swirl pattern of our long-time favorite shower curtain and Brenda's love for purple! First thing to go was the shelves above the toilet! From there we painted a fresh coat of white, purple from the floor half way up and added a white chair molding. Brenda finished up the decorating by making light switch and receptacle covers to match the shower curtain.
