I have been spending an awful lot of time online these past days. Yet I never felt like updating my diary. I suspect these two facts are linked, in that I spent my time in front of the computer instead of going out and thus providing you with new exciting stories. It feels nice to be missed though Tas :)

I spoke to Christophe yesterday, who came home from Holland for the weekend. He told me about going to the Zillion on his first night here. For the non-belgian readers, this is one of the countries' largest and trendiest discotheques.
Large and trendy places are directly connected with hell in Jen's mind. However, I got more interested when he mentioned there being several bars within the hall, chill out places with couches, cushions and even water beds. How cool is that! This seems ideal for me... I could have a few drinks in one of the pubs, talk to people, then when I'd get tired just stretch out on a water bed and have a little nap... And maybe, just maybe I would dance a little now and again. It's a shame though I really don't like the music. It makes me shiver, in a bad way.

I love festivals. The good thing about festivals is that you can sit down wherever and whenever you want. You never feel watched because nobody cares what you do, nobody thinks you're silly, in fact at most festivals you can be quite sure you are one of the sanest people of the pack. On my last festival, which was Eurorock, this summer, I laid down during most of the day, using my bag as a cushion for my head, listened to the music and observed everyone around me. Metal festivals are great when it comes to observing people. It sometimes appears like all the freaking mad people of this world are gathered at that one spot. I remember there seeing a girl I really liked. She was -shock horror- entirely dressed in black, with lots of leather, had long, punkish styled hair and a cute, small lip piercing. And in that sea of black she wore pink fish-net panties. The flashiest pink I've ever seen. It was funny. To me it felt like she was mocking the whole of the black mass.

I wonder how these people dress and act like in normal life. For most of them it is probably an occasional dressing up. Which is partly reassuring, partly a pity.
