Britney Main Attraction at Pepsi 400
AP reported that hearts were racing and seating was limited in the drivers' meeting Saturday night thanks to a special appearance by pop star Britney Spears. As the grand marshal for the Pepsi 400, Spears was an invited guest to the traditional pre-race meeting. Her inclusion meant young children were suddenly interested in following their fathers to the meeting. Just before the meeting was set to begin in an empty garage, Spears entered through the back and walked up the aisle through the screaming kids. Once she got to the front, a swarm of fans surrounded her asking for autographs and posing for pictures. "What can you say?" driver Sterling Marlin said, shaking his head as his crew chief's daughter ran off for Spears' autograph. He laughed when the squealing girl came back waving her piece of paper. It wasn't all fun for everyone, though. A reporter who tried to ask Spears a question got into a scuffle with one of her bodyguards before NASCAR president Mike Helton intervened. Spears wasn't the only celebrity in the meeting, but she was the only one to draw attention. Lance Bass from N'Sync made his way through the garage unnoticed, as did college football analyst Lee Corso.
Britney Scared of Her Power
ABCNEWS.com reported that Harper's Bazaar is putting Britney Spears on its cover as one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry. If sex and money equal power, that comes as a bit of a surprise to Britney Spears. The blond star is speaking rather humbly about her spot as cover girl for Harper's Bazaar's August issue, which profiles the most powerful women in the entertainment industry. "When people say I'm powerful, it scares me in a way," said Spears. "If you saw what I see when I wake up in the morning, you wouldn't think that either." The singer, who flaunts her sex appeal and choreographed dance moves on stage, apparently takes a more modest approach when considering her influence in the industry. "When you have power, you don't know you have it," said Spears. "It comes to people who work really hard. But it's not something that you go around flaunting. You have the most power when you don't show it."

Actor Covered Up as Britney Spears Stripped
Ananova reported that
Actor Justin Long spared his blushes with a jockstrap when he filmed a scene featuring Britney Spears stripping for him. The two stars play lovers in the movie What Friends Are For. But modest Justin admits to covering up, while Britney also kept her underwear on. Justin told the Daily Record: "I was in boxer shorts, sitting on a bed with Britney Spears in her bra and panties as she did a striptease two inches in front of me. "So I wore a jockstrap. I even entertained the notion of wearing two - but I figured one, really tight, would do the trick." dotmusic also reported news about this same story.
Britney Hates When Men Leer at Her
WENN reported thaT BRITNEY SPEARS hates being leered at by drunken men - because she doesn't give out a sexy image.
The midriff-baring singer, famous for her revealing outfits, says she hates the way men stare at her when she's out clubbing, and can't understand why they can relate her to sex. Spears says, "I have to say, the older fans are creepy. I am 100 per cent against anything sleazy - I don't believe I give off that image." Although she has help in choosing her wardrobe, the CRAZY singer admits she personally picks nearly all of the outfits she wears in her videos and on stage. She says, "Although I have a stylist, I choose my own outfits for videos, award ceremonies, performances and I like to help select styles for fashion shoots. "I love experimenting with styles and buying clothes from different designers."
Britney Hacker Faces The Music
vnunet.com reported that the hacker who defaced the official Britney Spears website on Friday has apologised for the incident, but not before being slammed by fellow members of the security site he works for. At the end of last week a hacker variously calling himself Wouter or Grazer defaced britneyspears.com, leaving a link to a message declaring his love for the pop princess and his anger at the site's administrators for ignoring his warnings about security. But by posting the message on Digit-Labs, the security site he works for, he inadvertently dropped his colleagues in it too. One other member of Digit-Labs, teleh0r, who is responsible for the site's upkeep, expressed his anger at Wouter/Grazer in an email. "This was in fact a hack commited [sic] by grazer from Digit-Labs," he wrote. "Digit-Labs dislike what he has done, and he is suspended." The original message left on the Digit-Labs site by Wouter has also been modified by the man himself and is available here. It reads: "i feel sorry about what happened, i will take a step back from the scene i hope you people understand the guys of digit-labs have nothing to do with it, they are friendly white hats, i screwed up, i'm sorry." The Britney Spears website has since been fixed and the Digit-Labs crew stressed that it was "nothing which was done by Digit-Labs" as a group, and that the other members "had no knowledge that this would happened [sic]". Digit-Labs condemned the act as "childish, wrong and illegal".
Kids Look Up To Britney
MediaGuardian.co.uk reported that youth crazes have always been fascinating, because of their sheer intensity, loyalty and hero worship, whether it be directed at Game Boy, Pokemon, or the latest hot actor or pop star. Marketing to kids is big business and launching a product with the right hero figure can reap enormous rewards. Get it wrong and the target audience is quickly alienated. New research from BMRB International's Youth TGI report looks at the figures 7 to 10-year-olds admire the most. And it has revealed a shock result. The most popular hero by a long way was not the likes of Madonna or David Beckham, but their own parents, admired the most by 38% of the 6,000 children who chose from a list of 34 heroes. Britney Spears managed second place with 30%, followed by and Robbie Williams in third, admired by 28%. These findings are key to successful marketing and sponsorship campaigning. The fact that parents have scored highest shows how difficult it is to choose an appropriate brand spokesperson.
