Olia: My Mother

This is picture of my mother that my my daughter had someone draw for me the Christmas of 2000. The music is "Cattle Call". I chose this piece of music because mom used to play it on the guitar. It reminded her of her life growing up on the prairies. Mom loved her life there and spoke of it often. It was always her dream to go home but God had a better plan for her. When Mom died I took her home and she lays to rest to rest there. I miss her alot and hardly a day goes by when I do not think about her.
A FEW QUOTES FROM MY MOTHER:
“Time passes fast and does not stand still for one minute. My belief is to live life in a good way.”
“I am not afraid to give my money to others who need help.”
“Sometimes people are loved for what they do for you, not for their pride, beauty, boasting and fashion.”
“Go from one ocean to another, you search, you look, and come to the same destination.”
“People feel sorry too late, feel sorry in living: care, help, and respect.” “A heart counts: you have to have a big heart.”

George Sands said, “ One approaches the journey’s end, but the end is a goal, not a catastrophe.” I think about this and ask, “Did my mother meet her goal?” I believe she did. In our lives we have seen the work of God’s hands in spite of the difficulties we faced. Mom never lost her faith in God and she lived a decent life. Jesus said, “In my Father’s house there are many mansions.” He went to prepare a place for her and that was her goal: to live in that mansion. The price paid was nothing comparing to what she will receive in that mansion. She will rise again and say, “Death where is thy sting and grave where is thy victory?”
