Snowflake
Peaceful snowflakes falling slow
Casting shadows with a glow
Each with its own design
Falling gently with heart's rhyme
Silently as I, in empty space
Coldness on my dreary face
Touching lightly then melt away
Safely in my hide-a-way
Look upon my soul and see
A poem lovely as a tree
Watch me but don't come close
My warm heart has long since froze
Don't weep for me, it's what I choose
I have nothing left to lose
Safely in my hide-a-way
I will stay my endless day
What I wish for you more than all
Is not what I wish for myself at all
It's okay for when I fall
I have no need to cry or call
Within myself I am strong
Within myself I sing my song
Only when you come too near
Is when I have the greatest fear
What brings fear brings discontent
I wonder what my life has meant
I choose to be a snowflake fallen
And melt away in this here cauldron
Let it be that love does not exist
And in this way let me subsist
Don't touch my heart, leave it be
And then from pain I will be free
