All foreigners coming to Pakistan need a passport. All foreigners including
nationals of Commonwealth countries except
Tanzania, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Zambia, Uganda, Trinidad, Tobago and Singapore
shall require visa to gain entry into
Pakistan.
Nationals of following countries with whom Pakistan has either a formal Visa
Abolition Agreement or who allow Pakistan
nationals to gain entry into their country without visa, shall be allowed entry
into Pakistan without visa for the period specified
against each.

Citizens of Israel are not allowed to come to Pakistan.

There are consulate generals in Los Angeles and New York.
1.A single journey entry visa is valid for a stay upto 3 months.
2.Multiple journey visas are also valid for 3 months stay at a time. Any number
of visits (normally six months) during a
specified period not exceeding one year, may be allowed on such visas.
3.Visas once issued can be utilised within six months from the date of issue.
4.Foreigners entering any province of Pakistan do not have to obtain fresh visa
for entering another province.
"Entry visa" and "Police registration" are two different
things. Therefore, all the foreigners not eligible for exemption under
relevant laws should get themselves registered with the nearest Foreigners Registration
Office within 30 days from the date of
their arrival in addition to obtaining a visa, where necessary. Note: Foreign
tourists entering Pakistan through regular check
posts are not required to obtain road permit, if "tourist" stamps
are affixed on their passports.
Cholera: Vaccination required for arrivals from infected areas.
Yellow fever: The countries and areas which were included in the former endemic
zone are considered by Pakistan as infected
areas. A certificate is required from all travellers, irrespective of age, coming
from any part of a country endemic for yellow
fever.
Typhoid and paratyphoid fever: Vaccination recommended as a prophylactic measure.
Poliomyelitis: Vaccination recommended as a prophylactic measure.

A tourist may import free of duty a motor vehicle under a Carnet de passage
en Dounne, for a period of upto three months,
provided he/she gives an undertaking before the custom officers at the place
of entry that he/she will not transfer in any manner
the ownership of the vehicle during his/her stay in Pakistan.
Tourists are allowed to bring in unlimited foreign currency. Travellers cheques
are accepted by major hotels, other
establishments, Pakistan are foreign banks dealing in foreign exchange, travellers
cheques, etc., with their branches all over the
country. Some of the major credit cards are also accepted by major hotels, other
establishments.
The incoming tourists are not allowed to bring with them liquor in any quantity
from any country. If a tourist is in possession of
some liquor which he brought by mistake or with the intention of taking it out
of Pakistan and he declares the same to Customs
officers it would be detained against a receipt and returned to him on his exit
from Pakistan. The resident foreign tourists
(non-Muslims) can, however, purchase liquor from the liquor vend of the hotels
authorised to sell liquor to the foreigner
(non-Muslims) against permit. Other foreign tourists (non-Muslims) willing to
buy liquor from the Liquor Vend of the authorised
hotels have to obtain permit from the Excise and Taxation Department of the
respective area.
