WELLINGTON ZOO: A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY
Gibbons

PIC7

Gibbons were often kept in small steel and concrete enclosures without enough room to brachiate. This is their method of moving around by swinging through the branches. This Gibbon enclosure shows how easy it is to provide a stimulating and interesting enviroment, open to the elements and with plenty of room. Wellington Zoo has a pair of white cheeked gibbons.
