Welcome to the Green Squadron Recruiting Center

It's excellent to see that you want to be part of Green Squadron, in TRA's X-Wing Alliance division. From this page you will be walked through the general registration process.

First and foremost you need to get the program ICQ if you don't have it already. It is an online instant messaging system, and I believe it is the most popular one in the world right now. It is the instant messager of choice in DJO and TRA, and thus, you need it. We use this program for informal communication between officers and pilots - the vast majority of your socializing with your comrades will probably occur via ICQ.

If you already have ICQ then just keep on reading. If you do not have ICQ then click here to go download it. They will walk you through the download and installation process. ICQ is fairly large, more than 6 megs, and every new version seems to get bigger, so if you are on a phoneline modem I recomend you download ICQ while doing other registration processes.

While ICQ is downloading you should then head to the DJO (Dark Jedi Organization, the main online gaming group that founded TRA) website to register as an official member of The Rebel Alliance. At the enlistment page. From their you will be asked to fill in some forms, and agree to some precepts. No these precepts aren't anything too bad, basically we just want to be sure that you won't be sending any death threats to fellow members.

At this point you are going to be writing a few small tests, about nine questions each or so. If you know how to be a nice person, use mIRC, use ICQ, and function appropriately in the DJO system then you will need about five minutes. If you need to check out some of the material we provide you with all the basic information you need. If you cant find it, just click here: Tests Info Page. You get an unlimited number of tries to pass the test, and if you are good at these sort of things educational guesses should get you the mark above 50% (note I didn't say equal to 50%, it has to be above, 5/10 won't cut it but 4/7 will) that you need.

Now if you are lucky or on a decent type of modem ICQ will have finished downloading, however it won't be done downloading yet. Now is a great time to download mIRC. We rely heavily, almost exclusively, on mIRC for our weekly meetings. The program is fairly small so the download won't take long. If you want a more entertaining version of IRC then check out the meetings section of this site, it has some pretty decent stuff and was worth the 4.8 MB download I made on my old 28.8 modem. :)

If you aren't finished the DJO and TRA enlistment process yet then you should do so. After this get ready to begin your TRA career by going to the Green Squadron Comlink, our online forum, and reporting for duty!

If you don't know what to say, then just post a message titled "(Your name) reporting for duty!" and then for the body of the message just say hello to your squadmates.

And now the most important part of all, (As cheesy as it sounds...) Have a good time!

This organization is all about fun, so lets get out there and have it!
