According to what we know so far, Mystique adopted Rogue when she was 4 years old. In the episode "Rogue Recruit" she went around morphed as other X-Men like Storm and Wolverine to scare Rogue off from wanting to join the X-Men. In "Turn of the Rogue" Rogue realizes that it was Mystique that had lied to her. In the 2nd season Mystique pretends to be a girl named Risty. From her appearance we can tell she is a little.......different, sort of like Rogue. She pretends she's from England and she's new and it all starts when she asks Rogue to help her with her schedule. From then on she hangs around Rogue and they become friends. I think Mystique really truly does care for Rogue and really truly loves Rogue like a daughter and just wants to get closer to her, she just lets the fact that Rogue's powers are, as she calls them, "limitless" get in the way. She made a mistake by lying to her and making her believe that the X-Men were "mutant hunters" but I think her intentions were just that she didn't want to lose Rogue, especially to Xavier. Recently Mystique made a deal with Mesmero in which she allowed Mesmero to take control over Rogue as long as both of them were spared. She really wanted Rogue to be safe, even if she was saving her own butt in the processes. Rogue was so mad at Mystique that when she was told she could save her, she has pushed her stone statue self over a cliff and into pieces! In Ascension Part II, Mystique tries to apologize for everything she did. I mean that must have took a lot, she is Mystique. Kurt and Rogue just blew her off. |

In the original series Gambit and Rogue were a very cute couple. In Evolution however there have only been hints. The very first time they meet, Rogue is behind some boxes and pulls her glove off then runs into Gambit. Gambit holds a card out to Rogue and she takes it and smiles with a sappy smile. Gambit stands there and smiles then jumps away. Rogue stares at the card as if it was a gift she was very happy to have. She realizes it's gonna blow and jumps away just in time. The second time they meet Rogue asks him why he's there rather harshly and he says "Just walkin by chere". Recently, when Mesmero took control of Rogue and Rogue invaded Magneto's base, Gambit (being the skillful fighter he is) was the last to go down (next to magneto but he wasn't even in there at the time). Rogue kisses Gambit and causes him to go out cold. In Cajun Spice, Gambit kidnaps Rogue as she's on her way to school. He claims he's just trying to help her get her freedom. Rouge believes him until she accidentally touches him and finds out he just used her. But, she comes back for him later and helps him get out of the mess he made. He hands her a queen of hearts before he goes at the end saying people are watching over her. Did everyone see them standing next to each other at the end of Ascension Part II?!

Rogue seems to trust Logan probably the most out of all the X-Men. He was the first one to welcome Rogue to the X-Men. In "Self-Possessed" Logan is able to say just the right things to help Rogue snap out of it. He's also there by her side until she wakes up. Logan seems to relate to what Rogue is going through as far as betrayal goes. He tries to talk to her and make her feel better and explain it wasn't her fault in "Impact". |
Kurt and Rogue have a brother/sister
relationship after they found out about Mystique. They seem to understand
each other and Kurt seems
to be another one that feels he is all alone in this world with his crazy
appearance and he seems so glad to have a "sister" to be there for him.
He is also kind of protective of her at times. The end of Ascension has them linked arm in arm. Rogue: Go away! Kurt: Is that any way to treat your little brother? Rogue: We're not related. Kurt: Oh, now that's just denial talking. Rogue: Mystique may have given birth to you, but she only adopted me. Kurt: Either way sis, we're in this together. I mean it, Rogue. Whatever you're going through, I'm here for you, okay? (Under Lock and Key) This took place when Rogue was still in bed and Kurt had come in to offer company (and some of Kitty's food....) |

Just wanted to mention that Rogue
has a slight crush on Scott. On Christmas she got him a present and
Risty constantly asks her about and she just shrugs it off like it's
true but she doesn't want anyone to know. This is probably one of the reasons
Rogue hates Jean so much. Scott and Rogue star in "Turn of the Rogue" where
they go on a class field trip and end up in a cave. Rogue goes wondering
off and Scott follows. Then end up running into Mystique. Rogue finds out
Mystique lied to her and her and Scott end up fighting for their lives.
Scott gets hurt and Rogue saves him. Rogue: Scott? Scott!? Listen, just hang on, you're gonna be okay. You're gonna be...(looks over edge) Oh man! We're gonna die! Scott: Thanks for the pep talk. Rogue... Thanks. You saved my life. Rogue: I owed it to you. Mystique had me pretty mixed up. Her minds a tortured mess, but I saw enough to know that you're not my enemy. I really thought that she cared about me. |

Jean Gray: Rogue seems to hate Jean Gray, probably because she is just a little bit jealous. Jean sometimes seems to have it all. Popularity, good grades, awesome powers, pretty, a loving family, and even Scott Summers. Jean seems to be a vary caring (but sometimes preppy) person and seems to respect Rogue. I think she tries hard to make friends with Rogue but Rogue seems to just turn her away and hate her more. Rogue does seem to realize Jean's intentions and even admits after saving Jean in "Power Surge" that she did it because she knew Jean would do the same for her. "Me and miss popularity over there, we're worlds apart... galaxies." Rogue seems to show a little more respect for Jean as the series progresses. |
Rogue has to share a room with Kitty
and is not happy about it! Rogue tends to look at Kitty as an obnoxious
talkative annoying person. Kitty seems to have respect for Rogue.
In the episode
"Shadowed Past" when Rogue is having her nightmares, Kitty is the first
one to come sit in her bed with her and comfort her. In the episode "Spykecam" Rogue and
Kitty both wanted to dance in a play the school was doing. In the end they
did but towards the middle there was a scene where Spyke suggested Rogue
absorbs some of Kitty's power so she would dance like her, and she did. More
and more they seem to get along better and become better friends. |
