Welcome dear Guests to the section on Seafood , pasta and others . Sounds yummy? Let's cook up the cauldron and set those dishes out , shall we ?
STEAMED FISH WITH HERBS
A sipmle light dish which requires these ingredients :
(1)A slice or two of your preferred choice of fish(depending on the number of servings you may have more than two ) ( *Choose one that does not have too much bones in them )
(2)One whole ginger
(3)Chopped chives
(4)Soy sauce
(5)A teaspoon of pure sesame oil (which can be used in salad dressing or oriental-style dishes )
(6)A dash of pepper and salt(more , if you like , depending on your taste)
Some chopped chilli( if you prefer)
First , marinate the fish of your choice with the soy sauce , salt , pepper and pure sesame oil . Rub it into the fish if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty for this . Next , cut out few slices of ginger from the whole ginger and slice them up into fairly thin strips . Sprinkle them on the fish . Sprinkle the chopped chives onto the fish too .
If you have the time , set aside the marinated fish in the fridge for about 15 mins to 20 mins so as to let the fish to absorb the flavour of the sauces . If you do not have the time , just steam the fish for about 20 mins( It would work out just as fine) .
But before that , add slighty less than a quarter of a small bowl of water onto the fish so as to create a slight gravy to it.( Adding too much water would make the flavour blend , so check) Close to 20 mins , poke the fish gently with the tip of fork to check if it is cooked .
Add the chopped chilli once it's done . You have add other hers like rosemary , extra chives , some slices of garlic if you prefer . Serve it whilst hot .
Other alternative uses of the dish : (1)As part of porridge , add them to give that extra flavour or nurtient especially for those who are sick .
(2)As part of fried rice
You may add other variety of seafood like prawns , squids , abalone etc.
Happy eating !
