Here's is our famous chef---Chef Luke at work . What would you have him bake for you today ? How about the following recipes ? Be patient. He's busy..it's best not to annoy him..you know how a genius can be at times..But worry not , he's a kind and gentle soul at heart . ( He's a real softie too despite his brushy eyebrows )

RECIPE ONE

SAGE CORN BREAD

2 egss

2 cups buttermilk

3 tablespoons shortening(melted)

One and a half teaspoons salt

2 cups of cornmeal

One teaspoon baking powder

Half teaspoon baking soda

Half cup of fresh sage / 3 teaspoons dried / 2 teaspoons ground

Preheat oven to 367 degrees F. Beat the eggs . Add milk , butter , eggs and shortening and mix well . Mix dry ingredients together . Add to egg mix and beat until smooth . Pour into 9-inch square greased baking pan . Bake for 25 mins . Serve hot . Enjoy !

RECIPE TWO

MUFFINS(Plain or Fruit)

2 cups sifted flour

Half teaspoon of salt

3 tablespoons of sugar

4 teaspoons of baking powder

One cup of milk

1 egg

2 tablespoons of shortneing(melted)

Preheat oven to 400 degress F. Sift flour , salt and baking powder .Combine the remaining ingredients and add to the dry ingredients . Stir just enough to dampen the flour . Pour into the muffin pan , two-thirds full . Bake for 20 to 25 mins .

For fruit muffins : Add half cup flour , 1 cup of fruit of choice . Mix and bake as above . You may also use canned fruits , such as canned pineapples or anyother canned fruits you like .

For herb muffins : Add half cup of fresh herb of choice or a quarter of dried herb of choice .Mix and bake as above . You may use such as Rosemary , Lavender , lemon balm etc .
