WHAT IS THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF LOONG KONG? The Loong Kong Association is a four-family association of surnames of Lew, Quan, Jung, and Chew. It was based on the formation of brotherhood by four noble warriors and patriots Lew Pei, Kuan Yu, Jung Fei, and Chew Yun near the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty (184 AD) and the Three Kingdom period (220-280 AD). They vowed to dedicate their lives together to save the country from uprising rebels and against corrupted warlords. It was the spirit of brotherhood and loyalty, righteousness, humanity, and courage the four heroic ancestors possessed, that the Association promotes and the purpose for its existence.
WHAT WILL I GAIN BY JOINING THE YOUTH GROUP? Members make new friends and also learn more about their Chinese heritage and history. They can suggest and vote on activites and learn to prepare for potential leadership in the Loong Kong association, as well as participate in improving the Chinese community. Many members' lives are enriched personally and culturally and result in forming lifelong friendships.
