:: EMERGENCY ROOM
The Emergency Department of Ross Hospital provides medical
care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is staffed with
full-time Board Certified Physicians and highly qualified experienced emergency
nurses. To meet the demands of critical care, all nurses and physicians
are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. The staff has training
to handle many types of emergencies and illnesses. If a special situation
arises and care is required by a service not available at RH, the Emergency
Department will transfer patients by ambulance or helicopter to the appropriate
facility.
Upon your arrival to the Emergency Department, you will be met by a Registered
Nurse (Triage Nurse) who will conduct a brief assessment to determine the
type of treatment you will require. After this initial assessment, registration
will be completed. You will then receive further nursing assessment and
medical care by a physician. Laboratory testing, X-rays or other procedures
may increase your time in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department
cooperates with other hospital departments and community agencies in order
to provide a variety of needed services.
The desire of the Emergency Department and Ross Hospital is to strive
to meet the ever-changing needs of our community in a professional and
courteous manner. If you have concerns, comments or compliments, we would
like to hear from you.
