Make an appointment for a consultation session. Adrian John will come to your home to discuss your needs, wants, preferences, and ideas, and brainstorm with you in order to develop the design that will work best for you.
A site measurement will then be taken of the space, which includes the sketching of a rough plan and the taking of measurements.
At this point a time-frame will be given, detailing the approximate time it will take before the design is completed.
At his studio, a scale plan of the space will be drafted, and the design process will begin, during which furniture and finish layouts will be developed.
Next, an elevation plan will be drafted in order to show you a cross-section of the plan, detailing the relationships between heights, levels, and walls.
At your request, he will also draft a perspective drawing, showing an artist’s conception of what the space will look like when finished.
Material sourcing is the next stage of the design process. On-site research of furniture and finishing materials and colours will be conducted, including obtaining details on pricing and availability, in accordance with your budget. The time spent material sourcing is relative to the scope and complexity of the project.
The design, plans, and materials will then be presented to you in a way which is clear, concise, and easy to understand.
During this secondary consultation session, you will have the opportunity to request any changes or a reworking of the design.
Lastly, you may submit completed designs to a contractor to build and implement the plan. During this process, Adrian John will be available for support and ongoing consultation.

He will develop designs for the placement and layout of garden beds, shrubs and bushes, perennials, stone walkways, and waterworks in order to create beautiful and functional exterior spaces!
Custom Millwork Design Adrian John can design unique and custom-made wooden furniture (including dining room tables, display units, and consoles) and exterior structures (such as backyard decks and canopies) that will fit your personal needs!
Fees Structure
The usual rate is $25.00 per hour, paid upon completion, although this may be negotiable depending on the scope and complexity of the project.
Don’t pay a flat rate ever again!
Pay only for work directly related to your project.
The hours counted towards your invoice include only those directly related to the design/planning process, including: consultation time, studio time, and time spent sourcing materials and furniture. Transportation time is NOT included in your fee!
