My grandfather served in Tsar Boris' Guard.
He was also Cavaler of the Military Knight Cross "For bravery"
for an intelligence operation in WW2.
Here you can see him in Skopje (1941) as corporal
in the Bulgarian Army.
You can see a little bootblack, proud to stick close to him.
But beware ! It could be an illusion ! This bootblack
may be forced
to look proudly - after all, he should be
a typical poor little "occupied" bootblack...
Have you ever seen your face when getting photographed
close to your older brother-soldier ?
