(1) Mahala was cup runner up, they participated as cup winner Ahly withdrew due to inadequate time after returning from Cote d'Ivoire following Match vs ASEC in African Champion league.

(2) Mekawleen (league 5th place) played as a replacement after Ismaily (league champions) withdrew "refusing to play in Cairo Stadium and also for inadequate preparation", Ahly and Mahala (league runner up and 4th place) refused to play vs Zamalek for the title. Ismaily club was fined 250000 Egyptian Pounds.

(3) ENPPI, third in league participated in place of Zamalek runner-up in both league and cup who was punished by federation for refusing to recieve medals in cup final

(4) Ismaily, third in league participated in place of Zamalek runner-up in both league and cup who withdrew
