The scenario begins as the burgeoning artist, Charlie Cantrell, undertakes a move to Atlanta, GA. After years of empty promises to relocate Charlie bursts onto the Buckhead art scene with great success. On the night that he celebrates the opening of his art gallery he also proposes to Cheri, the woman of his dreams, whom he met soon after moving to Atlanta. Charlie has everything a man could ask for and more. His new gallery and blushing bride would seem to be more than enough for any man to handle.

Less than one year into marriage Charlie is embroiled in an affair. Dividing time between his wife and mistress has definitely detracted from his work. After making several lackluster attempts to produce quality artwork Charlie's sales at the gallery have slumped. Since business has been sluggish, at best, a few delinquent mortgage payments have caused the bank to foreclose on his home.

Meanwhile, Cheri has discovered the foreclosure notice and she receives another of the strange phone calls she's been receiving lately. Whenever she answers the phone the caller hangs up. As Charlie arrives home Cheri confronts him about the foreclosure and the telephone calls. He assures her that things are beginning to look up. He just made a big sale and he's now feeling a lot more inspired. Everything will be handled. Charlie heads to the bank to meet his loan officer and make his payment. On his way to the bank Charlie Makes a call to his mistress, Candy, and demands to know why she has been calling his home. Candy only has one thought on her mind right now - seeing Charlie. That's why she's been calling. Charlie is livid. He tells her never to call his home again. But Candy has some demands of her own. Charlie must come and see her now or she will reveal their affair to his wife. As he looks at his watch Charlie he realizes that he has two things to do and not enough time to do them both. He pauses a moment to reflect and heads to the bank.

When Charlie arrives at the bank the loan officer is out to lunch and Candy is still waiting. Charlie needs to pay his mortgage today and Candy is threatening to end his marriage. Just when things were starting to look up they take a turn for the worst.
