Chapter Thirteen...Marv

Taylor quickly pushed his way through the bushes, holding one hand over Kelsey’s eyes. He had found this spot two days ago and he knew Kelsey would love it. He carefully led her into a small clearing. He removed his hand from over her eyes and slipped his arms around her waist.

Kelsey’s eyes adjusted to the bright light and then she saw Taylor’s surprise. She gasped. It was a small waterfall and a small pond, the clearest blue she had ever seen. To her surprise, she spotted coral growing underneath the water. “It’s beautiful, Taylor,” she whispered softly.

“Not as beautiful as you,” Taylor told her sweetly. He kissed her gently on the cheek and then grabbed her hand.

Meanwhile, the dark figure in the shadows slowly stroked the knife he was holding. “She is beautiful...but she’s mine.” he thought angrily as he heard Taylor. He had carefully controlled his jealous anger as the morning went on, but when Taylor kissed her cheek, he lost the control. He burst out of the shadows and struck Taylor’s turned head.

With a cry, Taylor fell foward and landed on the ground. Kelsey turned and when she saw the guy she screamed bloody murder. Before she knew it, he had grabbed her and the knife was less than a centimeter away from her throat.

Taylor recovered quickly and scrambled to his feet. He looked in shock at the scene before him. A guy he had never seen before had a knife at Kelsey’s throat and Kelsey was trembling, do her best not to cry. She was so stunned and scared, she felt as though she would turn to ashes any second.

“Move or I’ll kill her.” Taylor heard the guy say in a voice that sounded as though he did indeed mean to do it. Taylor quickly moved, biting his lip to keep in the anger that seemed to be invading his heart. “Who the bloody hell does he think he is?” he thought angrily. But Taylor cringed when he saw the fear in Kelsey’s eyes. He could stand his own pain, but not Kelsey’s. That took more strength than he had.

The guy, also known as Marv, smiled. Taylor was getting the message. Kelsey was Marv’s and no one could have her but him. Marv felt Kelsey tremble slightly and whispered soothingly into her ear, “It’s okay, doll. Just cooperate and everything will be fine.” Needless to say, the attempt wasn’t too comforting considering the knife by her neck.

Kelsey closed her eyes, a tear escaping them. She looked at Taylor and saw the hurt and anger in his eyes. Suddenly Kelsey felt overcome with rage. She had been scared to death for two months; she wouldn’t even step out the door alone. She was tired of it. She had rarely cried until Marv had appeared. She wanted her life back, she wanted her friends back, she wanted her fun back, but mostly she wanted Taylor back. Marv had taken everything and Kelsey was going to take back what was rightly full hers, any way she could.
