Chapter 1: Welcome to the Jungle

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games
We got everything you want, honey, we know the names
We are the people that can get whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey, we got your disease
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your sha na na na na na na na knees
I wanna watch you bleed
Welcome to the jungle, we take it day by day
If you want it you're gonna bleed, but it's the price you pay
And you're a very sexy girl that's very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights, but you won't get them for free
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my serpentine
I, I wanna hear you scream
Welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here everyday
Ya learn to live like an animal, in the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for you see, you'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want, but you better not take it from me

"Leave me alone okay?"I was growing hostile. I put the cigarette out in the ashtray and glared at the guy in front of me. He was tall and muscular, with a shaved head and a muscle shirt. "Come on beautiful. You and me upstairs."he was leaned over me, pinning me down to the couch. "Hell no. I know what you want and I want it so leave me the fuck alone!"I yelled and squeezed my way out of his arms. He grabbed me and pinned me back down. "I'm gonna ask again. You, me, bed, upstairs, now."he insisted. "That wasn't asking."I said and kicked him where the moon doesn't shine. He chased me outside, but I lost him around the corner. The wall around the yard beside me was cold and hard when I leaned against it. It was hot outside and the wall felt good to my back. I saw the white muscle shirt and knew instantly that it was Clarke. I got up and ran across the street and over to the sidewalk. When I turned around a car came speeding up the road and Clarke was just then crossing. It hit him dead on and he was slung onto the sidewalk beside me. I bent down beside him and cried into his shirt. The person got out and ran to him. "Oh my god! I hit a youngun!"she exclaimed, and slapped her hands to her face. "It's okay ma'am. He'll be alright. The rescue squad isn't too far from here."I said and ran in the direction of the rescue building.

I busted through the door and ran to the nearest person. "A friend of mine just got run over, please hurry. He's not breathing."I yelled and tugged on the man's shirt. "Okay."He turned around. "Come on men get on it."He yelled and hopped in the ambulance. I got in beside him and told him where to go.

The woman was still lingering around Clarke and she was crying uncontrollably. He was finally revived and they got the two of us in the back of the ambulance. I was there to hole his hand and keep him calm until we got to the hospital. "Skyler."he mumbled. I never heard him sound so weak. "Yeah Clarke."We had been friends since I moved here two years ago and he'd never done anything like he did tonight. The only reason why he did this time was because he had gotten drunk with his guy friends. "I feel like I'm dead."He said and choked a laugh out. I ran my fingers across his puppy hair-as I called it-and felt a tear roll down my cheek, ruining my fake smile. "You'll be alright. I promise."I comforted and squeezed his hand. The nurse looked at me and grumbled, "Don't promise him anything. He has serious injuries."I glared at her and barked, "Look, he's going to be fine okay!"I could see the smile on his face forming out of the corner of my eye.

The next day, I woke up early so I could go see Clarke. The doctor said he would be fine as soon as his wounds healed and they could make sure his broken rib was healing properly. Then they'd send him home. I got dressed and headed out the door and down to the hospital. I made a beeline for Clarke's and sat down in the chair across from his bed to wait for him to wake up. His eyes fluttered open and he looked right at me. "Sky, you're here."he sounded excited, but his face was still plain and pale. I walked up to him and kissed his cheek. "How you feelin'?"I questioned with a smile. "I still feel dead, but I'm breathing okay now and everything's not still blurry."he chuckled. "That's good."I smiled again and kissed him on the lips this time. He looked up at me; this being the first time his eyes were full of glee. "What was that for?"he asked with a grin. "For being okay."I replied.
