When they got to the hotel Stacey guided everyone to the restaurant. It was a cool restaurant. It had live music that went to your table and asked you what song you wanted them to sing, a HUGE salad bar, and the food was always good. "How many?" asked the waitress whošs name tag said Debbie. "Ten." answered Walker. "This way please." Everyone walked up three stairs and toward the largest table. Everyone sat down and a waiter poured us water as he told the specials. "And," he continued, "before or after you order you may go to the salad bar. Any questions?" Everyone shook their head no.
"Okay, do you want a few more minutes to decided what to order?" "Just maybe five minutes." said Walker. "Sure." the waiter smiled and asked, "Um, do you three boys happen to be Hanson?" "That's us!" said Zac. "Oh, would it be too much trouble to ask for your autograph? My daughter loves you guys." "Sure." said Ike signing the piece of paper the waiter gave him. "What's her name?" "Nala, shešs 15 and just adores you Ike." Ike blushed a little bit and signed. After Taylor and Zac signed the paper too the waiter said thank you and left.
Ike was still in a daze when the waiter came back for their orders. After everyone ordered they all
walked to the salad bar. It was really big and when you get your plate there is a lady (or man) tossing a Caesar salad. If you get some or not you can get carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and all different kinds of vegetables. Then you can get croutons, sunflower seeds, raisins, pasta salad, muffins, bread, and almost anything else.
After everyone ate their salad and were stuffed, their main dish came. Everyone ate as much as they could, which wasn't very much. "Would you like dessert?" asked the waiter as he gathered the plates. "Oh, please donšt mention food around me for three days." Zac said. "I am stuffed. Do I look like I gained weight?" Everyone laughed at that.
After they finally left everyone piled into the van. Walker turned the radio on and Jessie Williams(the DJ) came on. "And here is a song by Hanson called "I Will Come to You." As Hanson is on vacation here on beautiful Kauai." "I Will Come to You" played then a song by Mariah Carey called "Dreamlover." Everyone took turns lip singing the songs. Everyone lip sang songs till they dropped Stacey and Susie off at Susie's house (Stacey was gonna spend the night). "See you tomorrow at nine." Taylor said. "Huh?" asked Stacey looking at the black figure that was helping her out of the car. "Remember? You guys are going to baby-sit Jessie, Avie, and Mac tomorrow."
"Oh, yeah. Well, see ya tomorrow." She let go of his hand just as Susie's older brother Duncan turned on a light. He squinted, and his hair was pointing in all different directions as if he had just woke up. "What are you doing here?" he said to Stacey as she and Susie went passed him (I guess you figured he isn't Stacey's favorite person in the world). Stacey ignored him and waved good bye to the Hanson's.
The next day Stacey and Susie slept in till 8:00. They ate cereal then as they were washing their bowls the phone rang. "Hhhheeelo." unfortunately, Duncan got there first. "Why, who's this?" "Duncan!!!" Stacey and Susie hissed both trying to grab the phone. "Hum...I, I'm not sure if she's here. I'll go check her room: the bathroom." Stacey grabbed the phone from Duncan and let Susie wrestle the jerk.
"Hello?" "Stacey?" said Taylor's voice. "Who was that guy?" "Sorry, he's Susie's dog - I mean brother." Stacey said glaring at Duncan. Taylor started laughing at that. "Well, Susie said to call before we come to make sure you guys are up." "Are we up, Susie?" Stacey asked. "Yup!" said Susie. "Yeah, we're up." "Okay, we're coming." "All right, bye." "Bye." "Susie, They're coming!" Stacey and Susie had to get a work out by chasing Duncan all around the house for their shoes. When they got them, the van was just pulling up.
"Hi!" said Zac, Ike, Taylor and Mr. Hanson. "Hi! Where's everyone else?" said Stacey out of breath. "We ditched 'em." Zac said with a mischievous grin that said it wasn't true. "No, we left them there cause they all needed to get ready." Ike said. "Oh, Yeah. Duh!" Zac said as he did a dorky smile and rolled his eyes. They all reached the hotel and were greeted by a pile of screaming girls. They all rushed to the van and didnšt even seem to care that there was two girls in the back. Somehow Ike, Taylor, Zac, Walker,
Stacey and Susie got into the hotel without hearing loss.
"Hi!" Mac squealed and hugged both Susie and Stacey's legs. "Hello Mackie man." Susie said.
"Hi." he said again looking up. "Cutie!" said Susie lifting Mac up and around in one full circle. When she put him down Diana gave the girls twenty dollars and told them they could get ice cream or something. (Just to inform you on what's happening: Diana and Walker were going sight seeing for awhile. They were leaving Mac, Jessie, and Avie cause they didnšt really want to come.) "Okay, so if you want to buy ice cream or something for the kids just go ahead." Diana. "Just, just not to much sugar." she whispered to the two girls.
"Um, mom I don't wanna come." Zac said putting on a sad face. "You're making staying with them sound fun. Well a little bit more fun than driving and looking at rocks." "He can stay!" Susie said loudly. "PLEASE!!" said Zac. "I beg of you." he said as he went on his knees and folded his hands up to his parents. "You be good then." "Oh, oh! THANK YOU MAN!!" "Hey mom? Can we stay too?" asked Taylor. "When was the last time you had time to yourselves?" Ike added. "You all want to stay?" Walker asked. "Yeah." all the kids said. "Is it okay if they all stay?" Mrs. Hanson asked Stacey and Susie. "Yeah." said Stacey. All right. But you boys better not come crying to me when we tell you how wonderful it was." "Okay!" they said.
"Yeah! Wešre not going!" Zac yelled as soon as he saw his parents turn out of the hotel parking lot. "But we are still in charge." Susie said. "And I order you all to stand in a straight line right now!" she barked like a army commander. Everyone even Isaac, Taylor, Zac and Stacey did what Susie commanded
just for the fun of it. "And MARCH!" she said pointing out the hotel room door. As everyone marched out Zac started cracking up and soon right in the hall in front of the 5th floor elevator were 8 kids laughing. There were still some giggles as they got out of the elevator.
"So where are we heading to, commander?" asked Isaac. "I don't know, where do you want to go Stace?" "Well, how about Kukui Grove?" "Cutie coo what?" asked Zac puzzled by all the Hawaiian words. "Ka-coo-ie Grove." said Stacey going slow for him. "It's our biggest mall. Remember, we went there for the 'date'?" "Oh, yeah. Ka-coo-ie Grove."
They all walked down to Kukui Grove shopping mall. When they got to the mall Avie said that she was hot and thirsty, everyone else agreed that they were too. So they went to, Zack's frozen yogurt. Everyone got a cup of ice cream. Isaac got vanilla, Taylor got strawberry, Zac (who told the clerk that he owned the store, get it? Zack's?) got chocolate, Jessie, Avie, and Mac all got chocolate vanilla swirl with
marshmallows, Stacey got vanilla, and Susie got chocolate. They ate their ice cream by center stage. All of the sudden there were people moving chairs and tables in front of a record store. Stacey asked one
of the men what was going on.
"Oh," he said. "We're getting ready for Forte`, a Hawaiian group, to come sign autographs." (*author note: Forte` is real. All the names are, too.) Forte` was one of Stacey's favorite bands (Hanson, no duh, came first). It consisted of four girls:Kristina (Kay) Barbaran who is fifteen, Gissele (Gee) Tejada who is seventeen, Joanne (Jo) Banda who is seventeen, and Marlene (Sweets) Baldueza who is twenty-one. Stacey walked back to everyone and told them what was happening. Ike said he wouldnšt mind getting their autographs. And so they all waited for Jessie, Avie, and Mac to finish their ice cream and for Forte` to arrive.
Ike waited in line till finally Forte` arrived. Stacey, Taylor, Susie, and Zac saw Ike's eyes pop out when he saw Forte`. They were pretty enough. But Stacey saw that Ike looked very interested in the youngest girl, Kay. She was his age and she was looking at him too. Stacey whispered to Taylor, "Look at Ike, hešs staring at Kay." "Oh my gosh he is in love." Taylor said laughing. "You think so?" joined Zac. "How could it be? He hasn't stared at her for more than a minute!"
Over at the autograph table Ike got Gee's autograph, Jo's autograph, Sweets autograph, then finally Kay's. "Um, hi." she said. "Hi." "Have I seen you somewhere before?" she said as she slowly signed her name. "Oh! Now I remember. You're Isaac Hanson, right?" "Yeah." "Wow, could I have your autograph too?" "Sure." Ike signed his name on Kayšs Middle of Nowhere CD. "I'm glad I brought this.?" she said with a smile."Yeah." "Okay, well, thanks!" Ike was very disappointed he didn't get a chance to talk to her for very long, but he did treasure his signed poster of Sweets, Jo, Kay, and Gee. He also got their CD.
"Hey, Stacey?" Tay asked. "Yeah." Stacey said as she turned from kicking the gum ball machine (she was trying to get Mac's gum ball but it just didnšt come out). "Zac, Ike and I were thinking, could you like turn us into surfer guys. You know for our souvenir? We'll pay for everything, don't worry." "Sure. Want to do it now?" "Okay. What store should we go to first?" "How about Deja Vu?" she asked. "Fine with us." They all walked to the Deja Vu store and found everything Stacey thought they would need.
After Tay came out of the men's dressing room to show Stacey, Ike, Susie, Zac, Avie, Jessie, and
Mac he looked, as Susie's brother would say, "Just, like, wow, dude!" He had on knee length red and yellow surf trunks, a Hawaiian Style navy blue T-shirt, and blue sun glasses. Then Ike came out and he had the same stuff only different colors: turquoise and white surf trunks, a dark green Quick Silver T-shirt, with green sun glasses. Zac was just awesome when he came out he pretended to be modeling. He walked out,
turned and said, "Zac Hanson is wearing a wonderful tan Hawaiian Style T-shirt with gold surf trunks. All topped off with gold sun glasses!"
After they all paid for their stuff it was 11:25. Time for lunch. They went to Pizza Hut and ate (duh). Then everyone said they were hot! They all practically ran back to the hotel and changed into their
bathing suites and (new) trunks. They spent most of the rest of the day n the pool or in the ocean. "Oh, gosh! Mom and Dad will be back in about 20 minutes! It's 4:10!" Taylor said. "Wanna change now?"
"Yeah we better." Ike said getting out of the pool.
"Bye guys. Thank you!" called Walker as he dropped Susie and Stacey off at Susie's house. "Bye!" Susie and Stacey said (yes at the same time). When Stacey and Susie walked in the house the phone rang. "Hello?" said Susie. "Oh good you're home. This is Zac. My mom and everyone else wanted to say thanks for baby sitting." "Well, it was really fun. Oh, by the way how long are you staying here for?" "That's the other thing. We're only staying for two more days." Zac didnšt sound like his goofy self and Susie could tell he wasnšt kidding.
"What?" Susie felt as if she might cry. "Yeah, it went by fast, didn't it." "I can believe it, two days?" "Yeah. Well my mom and dad said you and Stacey could like come to the air port when we leave." There was a long pause, then finally Zac said, "Um, Susie you still there?" "I'm still here. Išm sure Stacey and I will come." "Good. We're doing a small concert before we go so you can come to that too if you want." "Yeah, we'll come." Susie was crying now. Okay, well, I gotta go." "Okay, bye." "Bye." Susie wiped the tears off her cheeks and went in her room to find Stacey listening to 'I Will Come To You'.
"Hey, Susie, what's wrong. You look like you were crying. Are you okay?" "Not really. Hanson is going to be here for only two more days. Then they're going." Susie burst into tears all over again.
