Chapter 8~Back And Forth Between Homes

{Third Person Omniscient point of view}

Kurt Walton sits across the street watching Kristin and Taylor kiss. First they didn’t really do anything, then he notices the kiss gets deeper and more serious. He crushes the can he was holding right in his hand. Kristin and Taylor hear him and look over. "Hi Kurt," Kristin says, surprised. "Hi," Taylor says. Kurt gets up and walks home, wordlessly. He couldn’t watch anymore. It hurt him too much.

{end of Kurt’s point of view}

Taylor sighed with relief. "I thought this was going to be hard," he said. "Yeah, so did I," you answer. "I was really nervous," he said. "So was I but I got tired of waiting to see what it was like," you say. He hugs you and kisses you once more. Then, he shoves his hands into his pockets and walks down your driveway. You watch him until you can’t see him anymore. Then you go back inside. You try calling Angie Ernst, your best friend in the world. Bester than Tiff. Her mom answers and you say, "Hi, is Angie there?" "Yes she is, hang on," Kathy Ernst says. "Hello?" "Hi dude!" "Hi, we just got back," she says. "Cool, you will not believe what has happened while you were gone." "Tell me!" she demands. "Well Hanson is renting a house by mine and I am dating Taylor," you tell her. "Sure," Angie says. "I wouldn’t believe me either but it’s true." "OK, whatever." "Well anyways, Hanson is gonna be on David Letterman on May 12, and on Rosie May 14, maybe Taylor can get us tickets." "Yeah maybe, "Angie said, her voice showing full well that she didn’t believe you. Just then, your mom gets on the phone. "Kristin, I gotta call Matt home from Kyle’s." "OK, Angie can I call you back?" "Yeah." "OK, bye." "Bye."

The next day when you were painting your nails, Taylor calls. "Hey," you say. "Hey yourself," he says. "What’s up?" "Well, we’re leaving today to go to Tulsa and practice for three days." "Oh," you say sadly. "You didn’t let me finish. You have Monday off, am I correct?" "Yeah," you say, "What are you getting at, Tay?" "Well, do you want to come?" "Yes!" you exclaim, "What time are you leaving?" "Around three p.m. It’s about eleven now, so we’ll pick you up about…what time mom? Around one, hey my mom wants to talk to yours, she’s at work huh?" "Actually no, not today, hang on I’ll get her…MOM!!!" "Yeah?" your mom asks. "Diana wants to talk to you!" "Kay," she picks up the other phone. "Hi…"

You were in your room, packing, when your mom walks in. She hands you fifty dollars. "This is to pay for anytime you might go out to eat, or anything you might want to buy." "OK, thanks mom!"

An hour later, you were done packing, but were hoping you brought the right type of clothes. You decided to call Taylor and ask. You dial his number that you know so well. Zac answers. "Hello?" "Zac! My man!" "Hey Kris!" "Is Tay around?" "Nope." "OK, well maybe you can help me." "OK shoot." "What’s the weather like in Tulsa this time of year?" "Um, hot?" "OK, I packed shorts, but I wanted to make sure that was cool. See ya in about an hour." "Bye Kris." "Bye Zac."

An hour later, the doorbell rang. You answered it to find Zac standing there, wearing a black T-shirt with bright yellow pants. "Nice pants," you say, putting your arms around him. "Thanks," he says, putting his arm around you. You walk to the van and climb in the back, next to Tay. He has a hurt look on his face. "What’s wrong?" you ask. "Nothin’," he says flatly. You notice him staring hatefully between Zac and you. "Oh," you say, realizing what his problem was. "Don’t worry, I don’t like Zac." "Why did you put your arm around him then?" "Hey, jealous are you? We are just friends. I put my arm around Kurt remember? Are you really gonna let something this small ruin everything?" A smile breaks out on his face. "That’s better," you say, "You know, you’re really cute when you’re mad." "Really," he says, rubbing the top of your head.

"You guys are so cute together," Diana says, making you blush. "I am so glad he met you, Kristin, he has been so much more polite." "I’m glad he met me too," you say. Tay puts his arm around you and you lean against him. Forty-five minutes later, you are walking through the airport terminal. They start boarding first class passengers first. You get on and grab your seats. You sit still until the plane takes off. Then, you mess with your tray, making it fall and then clicking it back into place. You continued to do this until the man in front of you turns around and gives you a look. You start cracking up and so does Tay. "I love doing that!" you exclaim.

You look around first class. It took the whole place practically to fit all ten of you. It was you and Tay against the left side in the second row. Across the aisle sat Avery and Jessica. Behind you were Ike and Zac. Next to them, were Diana and Zoe. Behind them were Walker and Mackie. You were amazed at how quiet the kids were. Jessie and Avie were playing Barbies. Zac was playing Game Gear. Ike was sleeping. Mackie was playing with cars, Walker was reading. Diana was playing with Zoe, who was smiling happily. You sighed and leaned back against your seat. You put on the headphones that were supplied. You turned the dial to where the comedy station was.

All of a sudden, your chair slammed back onto a certain Zac Hanson, who happened to be in the middle of a video game. "Hey," he yelled. You turned around and smiled. "Hi," you said, trying to control your laughter. "I’m in the middle of a game." "OK, I’ll leave you alone." "Good." You turn back around.

FOUR HOURS LATER…

"Hey Tay! Aren’t you gonna say hi?" a voice calls. Both your heads turn in the direction of the voice. Tay’s face breaks into an even bigger smile. He walks faster, pulling you with him since his arm was still around you. You stop in front of a guy about as tall as Isaac. Tay slaps him five and says, "Steve, this is Kristin, my girlfriend. Kristin, this is Steve, Ike’s best friend." He sticks out his hand and you shake it, "Hi." "Hi," he says. "Tay, you are the last one I would expect to come back with a girlfriend." "Why?" "Cuz whenever we go to the mall and we see girls and look at them, you just laugh at us." "Oh, so how did you know we were coming back?" "Your dad told me before he left."

Taylor tells you that he’s thirsty so you go with him to get a soda. He gets a Dr. Pepper and you get a Diet Dr. Pepper. "Diet?" he asks. "Yeah," you say. You walk back to where everyone was talking. Diana and Walker are getting the bags. The kids are sitting on the ground, playing. Taylor pulls you into a corner and wraps his arms around you and kisses you. It’s not big at first, but after a while, he deepens it, letting his tongue go free. You are kissing when Steve comes over and says, "I hate to have to do this to you but we gotta go, grab a bag." Taylor didn’t have one since all his stuff was in Tulsa anyways. He took one of your bags. You walk side by side with him.
