Chapter 10

You and Taylor sleep the whole way back to his house. It was only a half an hour but you were both tired. When you get back to his house you wake up and he rubs his eyes. He gives you a small kiss and grabs his bag. “Bye,” he says. “Bye, I’ll call you later,” you say. “OK,” he shuts the door. You lean back against the seat and close your eyes.

When you pull into your driveway, you wait for the car to stop and then you pick up your bag and open the car door. You walk up to your room and fall face first onto your bed. Your mom was in the room across from yours. “Tired?” she asks. “Extremely,” you say, your voice muffled by the pillow. You fall asleep that way.

You wake up a half an hour later. You get up and walk in front of your mirror. Your hair was a mess and your had pillowcase marks on your face. You combed throught your unruly mane and managed to get it down with a little water. You washed your face to get rid of the pillowcase marks. Then you decide to call Taylor. You find a note by your phone that said, “Went to work it was an emergency be back later, Luv mom.”

You pick up the phone by your bedside and dial his oh-so-familiar number. On the third ring Zac answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Hey Zac, is Taylor there?”

“Yes but he’s asleep.”

“Oh really, oh well.”

“Yeah and I am bored out of my mind.”

“Where is everyone?”

“Out.”

“Oh. Well I was going to go to the mall but you are welcome to come with me if you are that bored to where you would hang out at the mall with a girl.”

“Do you mean that??????”

“Yeah of course I do.”

“Thank you soooo much!!!”

“OK, so meet me at my house in 10 minutes.”

“You got it!”

“Oh and Zac, bring some money.”

“Oh yeah.”

“Bye.”

“Late.”

You hang up the phone and change your clothes and do your make-up. You are about to put your shoes on when there was a knock at the door. You look out the window to see Zac there wearing a blue long sleeved shirt and black chords. You let him in and say, “Hang on let me get my shoes on.” “Okedoke,” he says. You tie the laces on your yellow docs that Zac had given you as a present.

“So you are getting some use out of my gift,” he says with a smile. “Yeah I wear these a lot,” you say. “Cool,” he says. “Ready to go?” you ask, standing up. “You bet.” You grab your car keys and shove them into your pocket. You pull your wallet out of your back pocket and check to make sure you had your discount cards and money. It was all there. You opened the door for Zac and locked it behind you.

You started out towards the car. He got in the passenger side and you slipped into the drivers seat. You pull out into the street and drive to the mall. You are lucky enough to find a parking spot within a mile range from the mall on the weekend. You get out, press the button on your keyring that locks the doors and head into the mall.

Zac was actually more fun to take to the mall than Taylor. Even though he was a guy. When you took him into the girlie shops to get a skirt or shirt or something, he made you laugh by suggesting he buy a bra for himself or something oddball like that. You burst out laughing. You walked around the mall stopping in almost every store because every store was either a guys or girls store or else both.

By the time you were ready to leave, you were both exhausted and starving. You took a trip to the food court and since no one was home (or conscious) at either house, you decided to go see a movie. Zac of course wanted to see a comedy and you wanted to see a romance so you compromised and decided to see Can’t Hardly Wait, that was if you could find someone to buy the tickets for you.

You lucked out when you found a hopeless looking teenager who appeared to be at least eighteen. You walk over to him and ask in your most sexiest voice, “Would you be so kind as to buy me a ticket to see Can’t Harldy Wait?” You look him up and down and then say, “On second thought, make that two tickets.” “Of course,” he says. You hand him the money and he marches up to the ticket window with you in tow. You give Zac a thumbs up and when the guy hands him the tickets, you take them before he can touch them. “Thank you so much, I am very greatful,” you say. “So who’s the other ticket for?” he asks slyly, obviously thinking it was for him . “My boyfriend’s brother,” you answer happily and skip off. He was standing there dumbfounded while you and Zac walk off laughing.

You walk into the dark theater and find two seats up front. The previews had already started. You sat down and enjoyed the show. When the movie was over, you sat through the credits and ran around the theatre a couple times. Then you stood on a chair and peeked into the little room where they start the movies. Someone was standing in there. You popped your head up and scared the living daylights out of her. She screamed and turned pale white. You jumped down, grabbed Zac’s hand, and ran out of the theater.

You walk out to your car and unlock the doors. You and Zac slide in and he says, “Thank you for saving me from death caused by boredom.” “No problem, you’re welcome to hang with me anytime,” you say. “OK so how about I spend all my life with you?” “I don’t think Tay would really go for that do you?” you ask him. “Probably not,” he says.

When you get back to Taylor’s house, he is sitting on the front porch. When he sees you pull up, he joggs over to you. Zac gets out of the car and you roll your window down. He rests his arms on the car. “So where’d you guys go?” he asks. “Just to the mall and to see a movie.” “Oh, why didn’t you call me?” “You were sleeping.” “Oh so what movie did you see?” “Can’t Hardly Wait.” “How was it?” “Good, really funny.” “Cool.” “Well I better be going,” you say, starting up the car again. He leans in the window and gives you a kiss. “OK bye.” “Bye.” “Oh Stacey! Wait! You wanna come inside? No one’s home,” he adds with a smile. “Except Zac,” you remind him. “Yeah but he won’t get in our way.”

You turn the car off. “Sure I’d love to come in,” you say, stepping out of the car. He wraps his arms around your waist and you walk him backwards into the house. “Oh GOD!” Zac yells. “Don’t use the Lord’s name in vein,” Taylor teases him. You keep walking him backwards up the stairs. After the first five steps he trips, bringing you down with him. “Sorry,” you say. “Why, I like it when angels fall on me from heaven,” he answers. You smile and say. “Well us angels like landing on good-looking superstars.” You start to get up and Taylor pulls you back down. He looks you in the eyes, “Hey.” He pulls you to him and kisses you. You finally get back up and help Taylor up. Zac was on the phone with his friend you could hear him saying, “My brother and his girlfriend just went upstairs into our room and I’m afraid to go in there, so we better go to your house.” Taylor gets up and pulls you into his room, shutting the door behind him.
