Chapter 13

When you got out of the shower, Taylor was asleep again. You walked over to him and gently kissed his forehead. His eyes fluttered open and he smiled at you. You still had your face only inches from his and he kissed your lips. You shared a few kisses and you finally pulled away and tightened the towel around you.

He got up and smiled and pulled his boxers on. He smiled at you.

“Go,” you said laughing and pointing to the door.

“Nah I’ll just wait to make sure you get dressed OK,” he smiled.

“No, I don’t think so.”

“What difference does it make, not like I haven’t seen it before.”

“So that’s different, I don’t know how but I don’t need you gawking at me while I get dressed.”

“OK, fine I’m going,” he left the room and you stood there and silently counted to yourself. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The door opened and Taylor peeked in. “TAYLOR!” you yelled, smiling.

“Ahh damn it, you know me too well.”

“Yup.” you pointed out the door again.

You walked over and locked your door. You heard the shower water running a little while later. After you got dressed, you pulled your hair back and secured it in a bun with a pen that you found on your desk. You applied your make-up and then you were sitting at your desk, painting your nails, the color “Silver Skies”, when Taylor started knocking on your door.

“Stacey, c’mon open up! I’m cold!!!”

You walked over and unlocked it. You sat back down, “OK, I unlocked it!”

He burst through the door, a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Taylor, your room is across the hall,” you reminded him.

“I know, but when I got here I put my stuff in your room in your closet.”

“Oh, OK.”

“Stacey, I’m offended, you don’t want to see me model my cupid boxers for you!” he joked.

You burst out laughing, “If you wear cupid boxers consider yourself a virgin cuz I never met you,” you said. He looked hurt and then rummaged through your closet.

He returned with his backpack. “Hmm, I didn’t pack enough clothes if I’m gonna be here a while.”

“Well it’s not like you don’t have the money to buy some clothes while you’re here,” you informed him.

“Well I only brought about a thousand bucks with me.”

“ONLY!!!” you exclaimed.

“I’m just kidding I have my ATM card.”

“Oh really, so how much is in there?”

“You don’t wanna know.”

You looked at him wide-eyed and continued to paint your nails while he got dressed.

He walked up behind you and kissed the top of your head. You were blowing on your nails. He walked over to your mirror and brushed his hair out.

You got up and walked behind him. You lifted up his shirt a little, reached down and pulled up part of his boxers, "OK good, no cupids,” you joked.

“HAHAHA you’re so funny! No they’re Coca Cola if you must know.”

“Hey anything is better than cupid.”

“Why? Cupid brought us together,” he said softly. He was too sweet. You tilted your head up and he leaned down. Your lips met and you kissed, soft, gentle kisses. Then they got deeper and he put his arms around you. You pulled away and kissed his chin.

“So, it’s about 9, ya wanna get some brekky?” Taylor asked in an Aussie accent.

“Uh huh but not until you come back to America,” you tease him.

“OK, so what do ya wanna do?”

“How about we walk down to Time Square and get a bagel at the bagel shop?”

“Sounds uh good,” Taylor said, Time Square was not one of his favorite places since about a week ago.

You grabbed your gap sweater and he grabbed his brown sweater. You rode the elevator and walked out the door, greeting the doormen. You walked in the direction of the bagel shop. When you got to Time Square, you both shuddered, looking at the alley. There were a group of teenagers sitting by a light post, smoking and laughing. They were none other than Adrian, Paul, Mark, Jennifer, Celia, and Doug. Taylor looked at you and you breathed in deep, held your head high, and walked. You passed them and didn’t answer when they saw you and Taylor passing, your hands linked together. It would be so easy for you to just go over there and take a hit of one of their joints. However, your love for Taylor was much stronger than your craving for pot.

You kept walking and got to the bagel shop. You and Taylor had a great breakfast, it was nice to be together again like old times. You joked and ate and when you were done, you got up and threw your trash away. You decided to walk around some of the shops. The group you used to hang with was sitting a block up, they had gotten in trouble and asked to leave so they moved a block, you knew this routine too well cuz you used to be a part of it. You had to pass them to get to the main strip of shops and to your favorite one. You took another deep breath and Taylor’s hand and walked. When they called you, you reluctantly went over...
