Chapter 6

“Tay!” you screamed, “Wait!” You run out the front door and look around in the darkness. You hear faint crying and sniffling. You saw Tay sitting on one of the huge rocks in your front yard. He was playing with something gold and shinny. His engagement ring. He threw it in your direction, not knowing you were there. You caught it and started crying. You walked over to where Tay was sitting and blurted out, “I’m sorry Tay, I am so so sorry. I am so ashamed of my self.” It was silent for a while and gruffly, Tay said, “Yeah, well you should be.” You look up startled as Tay continues, the tears falling from his eyes, “You said you loved me. What was all that crap? Huh?” Tay said now yelling, “I loved you so much, I’d walk through fire for you! So is that why you asked me if I minded if you kissed Zac? So you could lip lock with my brother without me suspecting anything?!” “No Tay, that wasn’t it.” “Shut up!” he yelled at you. You jumped.

“Don’t yell at her,” a voice said. You didn’t even hear Zac come out. “You shut up too,” Tay told Zac. “No I won’t, “Zac said. Then Tay swung at him knocking Zac to the ground. Tay sniffled. Zac sat up and said, “I deserved that, just listen to me. Don’t blame Stacey. I asked her to come downstairs. We confessed to each other that we both felt a strong attraction to each other when we kissed earlier. I said that we should kiss to see if we felt anything.” “And did you?” Tay asked glaring at you. “No,” you said, “I only have feelings for you. I love you. More than words can explain, that’s why I am looking forward to marrying you in a few years.” You walked closer to Tay holding out his engagement ring. After what seemed like an eternity, he took it. An eternity later, he put the ring on his finger.

He stood up and turned around. He put out his hand in front of Zac and Zac flinched. “I’m not gonna hit you,” Tay told him “I’m sorry man,” Tay said holding his hand out again. Zac took it and stood up. “I’m sorry too.” “Me too,” you said.

Zac went in the house and Tay came over to you. He yanks you into his arms and kisses you. He bent you backwards and you put your knee by his side. You kiss very athletically and Tay carried you inside over the threshold. He carries you upstairs past your bro’s room where Ike was fast asleep, past the bathroom where Zac was on the phone making his confession to Tarah, and into your room and put you down on the bed. He mistakenly forgot to lock the door. He jumps on top of you and pulled your shirt off and his too. He slips your skirt off. He took his pants off and you kissed for a long time. He slips your bra off and soon you both were completely naked. At one point, you shrieked and he sat up. “What?” he asks. “Nothing,” you say. You grab hold of one of his chokers and pull him back down on top of you. You felt him slip himself between your legs and you scratched your nails down his back. He didn’t seem to notice.

All of a sudden the door opened and your mom walked in. The light from the hallway flooded into your room. “STACEY!!!” your mom shrieked shocked beyond belief. You both jerked your necks to face your mom. Tay reached down and picked up his boxers off the floor and put them on under the covers. He walked out of the room and your mom grabbed his wrist. “Stay away from my daughter,” she seethed. “No!” you screamed. “I love Tay and he loves me.” “You’re not ready for this yet.” Your mom says. “I am old enough to make my own decisions,” you say back to her. “I can’t trust you anymore,” she says to you. “Mom you told me that you first had sex when you were 13.” “That was my mistake,” she says. “And you told me you thought 16 was the perfect age to start having sex.” “Uh… er…I …well…” your mom stuttered. “See,” you say. “Fine,” your mom says, outdone, “Just next time, be more responsible when I leave you home alone for a few days.” She let Tay back into the room. He sat down next to you.

“Mom,” you say, “Now that we are being honest here, we have a confession to make. We are engaged but we won’t get married until I am out of college.”

“What?!” your mom exclaimed. Her jaw dropped open and she turned around and left.

“Well I better go to bed,” Tay says. He kisses you and goes to bed. You fall asleep with his kiss still lingering on your lips. When Tay got into bed Zac asks, “What happened?” “Nothing,” Tay tells him, rolls over, and falls asleep.

The next morning, you awakened to the smell of bacon and eggs. You went downstairs into the kitchen and look into the big pan that was on the stove. There was nothing in it. You look over at the table and there, laughing and eating, were mom, Zac, and Ike. They were eating bacon and eggs. “You ate all the bacon and eggs. How come you didn’t save me any?” “You are old enough to make your own decisions now, make it yourself.”

You walk over to the cabinet and pull out 2 bowls and cereal. You make two bowls of cereal and pour the milk and grab 2 spoons. You walk upstairs and go into your brother’s room. Tay is laying on the bottom bunk, staring at the top of the other bunk. You hand him a bowl and a spoon. “You are an angel,” he says pulling you into his lap. You eat your cereal in peace. When you are done, you get in the shower and get dressed. Tay knocks at your door and you let him in. “Have you gone downstairs at all?” you ask him. “No I haven’t,” he says. You laugh and you drag him downstairs.

You find your mom on the phone with Diana. You pray to the Hanson god that she didn’t tell Diana. Then, your mom hands the phone to Tay.

“Hi mom.”

“Hi Tay.”

“How is Mackie?”

“Oh, he is doing better.”

“That’s good.”

“Yeah, you guys can come home today.”

“OK.”

“Is there anything you would like to tell me?”

“Uh… no.”

“Are you sure? You didn’t happen to loose your virginity or anything?”

“Oh, that.”

“Yeah, that.”

“Umm I don’t really want to discuss it right now.”

“Don’t worry, Ashley already told me.”

“Oh.”

“You aren’t getting married anytime soon are you?

“Yeah.”

“Ahh, you do know I am very disappointed in you right?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I know you don’t want to discuss this with me but you will with your dad got it?”

“Uh huh.”

"OK well I love you honey.”

“Love you too mom.”

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

You and Tay go outside. “What was that all about?” you ask him. “Your mom told.” “Oh man,” you say. “Yup, just the thing you wanna talk to your mom about,” Tay says sitting down on the swing. You sit on the one next to him. You start rocking back and forth lightly. You look at each other for a while. You start laughing. Tay starts after you. You hear laughing from behind you. You both stand up. Your mom is behind you she holds open her arms. You walk into them. You both hug laughing. Your mom pulls Tay into your group hug. You hug and laugh for a while. You heave a sigh of relief.
