I am Jayantha. P. Liyanage, born on 12 th November 1967 in Kandy, Sri lanka. I am a Sri Lankan in citizen.
WHAT AM I ?
I am a Lecturer in Production Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Currently, I am doing my Masterīs Degree in Ergonomics at Lulea University of Technology, Lulea, Sweden.
WHAT IS MY ACADEMIC BACKGROUND ?
I got my B.Sc.Engineering degree with First Class Honours , from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 1995, specializing in Production Engineering. I am working as a Lecturer in Production Engineering attached to the same Univresity. I started following my Masterīs Degree in Ergonomics at the Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, since August 1997, which will be completed by 1999.
WHAT ARE THE AWARDS FOR MY ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE ?
§ The University of Peradeniya Award for the best performance in Engineering in 1994/95.
§ The Colombo Dockyard Award for the best performance in Production Engineering in 1994/95.
WHAT ARE THE PROJECTS THAT I HAVE CARRIED OUT ?
** Rehabilitation of Micro Hydro Power schemes in Sri Lanka.
** Mettalurgy & Corrosion of Hot/Cold worked steel samples.
** Design & Testing of a model Wind Turbine
WHAT ARE MY PROFFESIONAL EXPERIENCE ?
Firstly, I worked as a Field Officer attached to the Ceylon Tobacco Co. Ltd. in 1989/90. On completion of my Bachelorīs Degree I got my appointment as an Instuctor in the Dept. of Production Engineering of University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 1995. In the same time I was working as the Site Engineer of the New Library & Lecture Theatre Complex of Faculty of Engineering of the same University. I was appointed as a Lecturer in Production Engineering since 1996.

Ī A Life Member of the Peradeniya Engineering Faculty Alumni Association
Ī An Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers (IESL), Sri Lanka.

** Human Factors in Engineering,
** Human Factors in Organisational Design & Management,
** Cognitive Ergonomics,
** Virtual Environment.
