My Review of Aug. 1st

When my Mom first told me she got us Jewel tickets, I was so happy, it would be my second time going to see her. (First was at Lilith.) On Aug. 1st, we drove downtown Toronto to the Air Canada Center. Our seats were 10th row, center. The first group Rusted Root was good, they played a edgey kind of music that was different then I've ever heard. Steve Poltz was next, he was so funny. I fell in love with him. His Star Wars song had the whole crowd going. The lights went down and out came Jewel. The whole place was quiet as she softly sang Near you Always. She was wearing a hot pink long skirt with a black tank, forest green platforms, and a hot pink bandana around her head. Jewel's music had changed for the better, she turned her music to a jazzy, hip hop, blues kind of style. She told us stories and read a poet from A Night Without Armor. Who will save your soul sounded like Jewel was the queen of blues. It was great. Jewel's concert was the best concert I've ever been to.
