The number of cities in Uzbekistan have been growing increasingly. However, there are many ancient cities which was known to the world such as: Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrizabz, Tashkent and many. Along with keeping its ancient building, these cities got the view of modern city. There are many small industrialized cities like: Angren, Chirchiq, Jizzah, Gulistan, Qarshi, Margilan. The center city of each regions is densely populated and considered major cities of the country. They include: Andijan-center of Andijan region, Bukhara-Bukhara region, Jizzakh-Jizzak Region, Farghona- Farghona Region,Nukus-Qoraqalpoghiston autonomous republic, Qarshi-Qashqadaryo Region , Urganch-Khorazm Region, Namangan-Namangan Region, Nawoiy-Nawoiy Region, Samarqand-Samarkand Region, Gulistan-Sirdaryo Region, Termiz-Surkhondaryo Region, Toshkent Shahri-Toshkent Region.
