Saturday Rutherflo Games
Rutherflo 4 - Curve Lake 2 : John Garland pumps out all 4 RBI's in a come from behind win. Going into the top of the 7th, the game was tied. Rutherflo managed to get runners on first and second, when John Garland came up. He nailed a double scoring both runners and taking the lead for good.
Rutherflo 9 - Kanata Jrs 1 : John Garland picked up another 2 RBI's. But the play of the game came early on. Richard Burkholder, with nobody on, decided to bunt his way on. He beat the throw to first base. Then next batter Dave Waldie just had to sit back and watch the action. Rich stole second, the throw was off line and went into centerfield, where Rich moved to third. Then a couple of pitches later, the pitcher threw a passed ball, where Richard stole home easily.
Sunday Rutherflo Games
Rutherflo 6 - Napanee 5 : This was a major comeback win. Rutherflo managed to get down 5-1, but battled back in the late innings and finally won it in the bottom of the 7th. Gary Volwes started the game, but was pulled in the middle of the game by Byron Baranieski. This was probably one of the best comeback wins ever in Rutherflo history, especially since Napanee was the one who bounced Rutherflo from Nafa in Kansas last year.
Pickering 6 - Rutherflo 1 : Rutherflo gets eliminated from the tournament in the semi-finals. But started off great, the second batter of the game hit a solo home run, Randy Fife. He also started the game, but was later replaced by Bryon Baranieski.
