Travelling in Asia (and Central America and France)

I like to travel and in the last 32 years I have made a number of long trips, most of them till Asia. Here is a list of the trips I have documented. Mail me mailbox if you have any questions or comments concerning this site.

My last trip was down the Mekong river in February 2008, following the river from China, through Laos and Cambodia to where it flows into the sea in Vietnam. My photographs from the trip can be seen here.
The previous trip was to Yunnan in November 2005, where I trekked in areas adjoining Tibet (Tiger Leaping Gorge) and Burma (Xishuangbanna). My diary and some of my photographs from the trip can be seen.

The trip before this was however an exception; during February and March 2000 I was in Central America for five weeks - visiting Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama. My diary and some of my photographs from the trip can be seen.

Before that I was in Southern India in November 1998, you can read my diary here and look at some of my photographs.

Autumn 1996 I travelled in Southern China where the best part of the trip was trekking through the Miao villages of Guizhou province, and concluding with relaxation in Malaysia. My diary and some of my photos from this trip can be seen.

Suzhou - a small canal

In October 1994 I travelled in the Eastern and Southern parts of China (first cycling in the vicinity of the Grand Canal between Suzhou and Hangzhou and then some easy mountain walks in Western Hunan and Guangxi provinces - finally crossing the border into Vietnam and visiting Hanoi and Halong Bay), here is the diary from the trip, and some of my photos.

Cycling in France is another of my passions, here is a list of these trips, some with notes and a few photos.

As I have grown older I have become interested in gardening, and having finally bought a digital camera I have been documenting the progress of my garden in 2006 (in Swedish only).

My ambition is to expand notes and add pictures from earlier journeys. Meanwhile here is a list of the other mainly Asian trips I have made. Mail me mailbox if you have any questions or comments concerning this site.
