Now Playing: New Book Gets the Attention of the Press

Hi All,

Following a book signing for The New Woman's Herbal & Nutritional Guide at Barnes & Noble on May 17th, the Asbury Park Press, (Gannett Newspapers), ran a full color article covering the event! The May 27th issue offered a two page column which ran in New Jersey's second largest circulation daily.

Staff writer, Joan Marshall, did an excellent job of including information from both the event and the book such as tips for juicing, optimal exercise and how to reduce fine lines and wrinkles with my new Microdermabrasion Crytals Soap. You can purchase the book directly from Lotus Press 800-824-6396, or order online at Barnes & Noble Booksellers Online

What's next on the horizon? Well, I'd like to do a sports conditioning book which covers everything from cross training to makeup. Artistry in Motion is the working title thus far. For more information on my books or my Microdermabrasion Skincare line for a younger, flawless complexion visit Miczak.com's online store Credit cards accepted!

Natural Ice Fashion Show
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Warm Fur is VERY Cool!

This installment of our figure skating fashion show is featuring some more skating styles suitable for both outdoor and indoor rink use.

Our model, moi, is wearing a hooded black cashmere zippered sweater. The zipper is lined with rhinestones all the way down. A sweater like this is very versatile and soft. It's made by the very trendy Jones of New York. Topping off the look is a natural grey rabbit fur ring by Lord & Taylor. Soft and plush, it keeps the ears quite warm.

The focus here is to look in your closet for unique accents and clothing that can do double duty as both skatewear and streetwear. Even the simplest hooded sweaters can be dressed up with jewels or rhinestones. You just need to be creative.

Ice Skating Fashion Show on Natural Ice!
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Jerry's Velvets Make a Bold Fashion Statement

First of all we'd like to once again thank NiceRink for providing the natural ice as the backdrop for our skatewear fashion show! See how you can have your own NiceRink by clicking their link to your right.

We've come a long way from skating in our everyday clothes! Madge Syers who won the first Ladies Olympic Figure Skating medal competed in her long Victorian dress which was customary for the day. Imagine doing jumps in that?

Our first design is by Jerry's. Jerry's is unique because his dresses are designed by skaters for skaters. Comfort, fit and fuction all come together beautifully. Our model is wearing his delicious Cherry Snow Dress from his Red Rave line. On the upper bodice and sleeves is a shimmering scattering of silvery snowflakes. This exquisite soft velvet dress has a mock turtle neck, a back zipper and a box skirt with front slit. Sleeves are short and cuffed for extra softness. Available in Youth sizes 10-12, 12-14 and Adults S, M & L.

PHOTO: Our model is plenty warm even outdoors in her Jerry's velvet Cherry Snow Dress. Hooded warm up jacket is made of sueded supplex. Boots are Jackson Elites and blades are Ultima Freestyles. Visit Jerry's online by clicking the link to your right.

PHOTO: This is an old fashioned twist that's making a comeback. Fur jackets and hats were traditionally worn for both fashion and warmth. Years ago, most European skaters practiced outdoors on natural ice while Americans were known as "hothouse" skaters because they utilized indoor rinks. Jacket is rabbit fur with raccoon trim around the hood.

Ice Skating Fashions Then & Now
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Our Natural Ice Fashion Show!
Welcome to our Natural Ice Skating Fashion Show! Wow, we've had unlimted free ice time since the first of January through the end of February. It was great! Thanks again to NiceRink for providing the natural ice back drop for some beautiful pictures.

Also thanks to all of the participating companies such as Graf of Canada, Jackson-Ultima, Klingbeil, Onward Skatewear, Jerry's, and Montane through Moosineer who helped make this event happen!

PHOTO: Keeping the ice-nice! Resurfacing with the NiceIce resurfacer by NiceRink. This red Lite-Speed Jacket held up beautifully in below zero temperatures as well as on the ski slopes. Breathable panels helped prevent sweating but blocked the windchill and snowfall. Super light! Visit the Moosineer link to your right to order or read more about this jacket at the previous blog entry below.
