Labrador City is the beautiful little town in Western Labrador in which i was born.... It has long and cold winters and shorter sometimes wet and sometimes dry summers.... The temperatures in the winter can range from 0 degrees to -80 and below...:O)
There are 2 malls in Labrador City...:) One is about 1 minute from my house the other is about 5 minutes away...:O)
There are a lot of things to do in Labrador City...:O)
Some Places in Labrador City are the Arena - Here you can go skatin' and play Hockey, Figure skating also takes place here…:O)
There is 2 soccer fields and 5 baseball fields. What you do on them is self explainatory…:O)
One can go swimmin' in the Pool in the little town of wabush….:O) Or on Tanya Beach which… lucky me… is located right behind my house…:O) I would recommend swimmin' in Tanya only on hot days in the summer…. Otherwise you'll turn blue pretty quickly..:O)
If you like fishin' this is the place to be…. A fish can be caught in any lake other than the water supply…:O) At the moment there are some decent size fish bein' caught not far from here…:O) People come from all over just to fish…:O)
If you are the hunting type there is Caribou that you can come and Hunt….. there are outfitters here that are willin' to lead you to the Animals…. And there are a lot of Caribou…:O) That is something that most Labradorian Love….:O) This past winter my dad shot 6…. Hummmm good eatin'…:O)
There are 2 Weightliftin' places here…. You can get a very good workout at these places….:O)
There is also a Ski hill here… it is one of the best in Canada….:O) Because if the amount of snow that we get here skiing is awesome…. There is always tons of powder on the hill in the winter time…:O) Snowboardin' has increased in popularity here in Labrador City in the past 2 years also…:O) We also have Cross Country ski trails…. The Great Labrador Loppet takes place here…:O)
