Chapter 10


The next morning I woke up and looked around, forgeting where I was and what had happened the prevois night.

"Oh Yah;" I thought to myself. Stephanie and I were staying by ourselves at the Garden City Inn and last night my dream of going to a Hanson concert had come true. I glanced over at the alarm clock; 9:47 It read. I looked over at Stephanie who was still asleep.

Wow" I thought to myself; I had just slept in the same building as Taylor, Issac and Zac Hanson.

"Geez, to bad we didn't get to see them come into the hotel or run into them in the hallway or lobby;" I thought to myself. Oh well, they've probably left for another concert already." I got up to get dressed. I went into the bathroom and pulled my swimsuit on.I threw jeans and a sweatshirt over top. I brushed my tossled hair up into a tight ponytail. I was ready so I decide to wake up Stephanie since It was almost 10:00.

"Hey, are you planning on getting up today?" I shoke her shoulder. She groaned; "hmm, Taylor?" in a muffled voice. "No retard, I'm not Tay;" I said rolling my eyes. "get up!" Slowly she got up.

"hurry up so we can get that continental breakfat thing before there is nothing good left." I told her; "hey, you never know, we might catch them leaving." She got up and got dressed quickly. "Put your bathing suit on so we can go swmming right after!" I yelled into the bathroom.

She came out with a long sleeved navy V-neck shirt and green chords. We walked down to the front where the free food was. We each took a muffin and a juice off the tray.We sat along side the pool and finished eating. I looked up at the slide, it was not just a cheap little baby slide, it was one you would find at a water park.

I shoved the rest of my muffin in my mouth;" well, that was gross" I said reffering to the cheap muffins. I was ready to swim! I pulled of my shirt and jeans and threw them on a lounge chair. I dove into the cool water.

"Ahh! It's cold!" I told Steph. She jumped in after me. we swm around for a while, spashing each other, but mostly we went down the slide nonstop.

Suddenly I stopped; "to bad we missed them, I mean I don't know what I expected, but more I guess." I said distantly.

Just as I finished my sentence we heard someone yell "Mackie, wait!" I jerked my head around, a little boy I had seen in a few pictures jumped into the swimming pool. I turned to Steph wide eyed. It was Mackenzie Hanson!

"Oh my gosh Steph! They didn't leave!" I squelled. Don't scream, don't scream I prayed to myself. Mackie landed in the pool, "weee!" he screamed in delight. "Mackie, I told you to wait for me" A voice I knew to well said patiently. I turned around, my mouth dropped open.Standing less than 5 feet away from me was Taylor Hanson with a towel rapped around his waist.Taylor glanced over at us and looked away nervous, probably assuming we might scream or attack him. Just then Zac came running in the pool room and canonballing into the pool, splashing us all.

"Zac! I wasn't even wet yet!" Taylor yelled at his brother.

"Oh well, you are now!" Zac yelled back. Taylor turned to us and flashed his killer smile," sorry if he splashed you guys" Taylor said apoligetically.

"No problem;" I said as calmly as possible, since it was quite obvious that Stephanie would scream if she opened her mouth. We both knew Taylor wasn't big on screaming fans.

"Hey, you guys were in the front row at our concert last night!" He exclaimed. Stephanie was just stading in the pool with her mouth opened like an idiot so I spoke up.

"Uh...yah!" I forced myself to say. "It was so awsome!" Taylor smiled." Thanks for coming." He threw off his towel to reveal a pair of QuickSilver swim trunks. Stephanie let out a small yelp at the sight of him in swim trunks. I looked away embarrased.

"She'd better not act like a ditzy flirt" I thought. He jumped into the water and ducked under. Suddenly we heard the pool door open and we saw none other than Ike walk in. followed by Jess and Avery. awsome . Taylor came back up."

"Hey Ike!" He yelled across the pool, "Come here!" Issac ran over. Taylor started with introductions.

"This is Lauren and Stephanie;" He said pointing to us. "They were at the concert yesterday." Taylor told his brother. Issac smiled, "Oh yah, I think I remember seeing you in the front;" He said nodding.

This time Stephanie snapped out of it and spoke up. "Yah that was probably us." She said only sounding a little bit flirty. We began to talk and swim around together. With Stephanie trying to flirt like the stupid obsesed fan she was.

"They are so awsome;" I thought to myself. Trying to ignore the Stephanie's little flirtathon she had going on.

"Hey, I don't mean to sound rude or anything;" I started, but why are you guys staying at this hotel? I mean, there are so many other nicer ones;" I finished.

Tay took that question, "Well, we heard this one had a water slide and we wanted to stay at one that we wouldn't be suspected to stay at, you know not to much harrasement from fans." I looked down embarassed. Taylor caught my embarasment and smiled at me. "Plus, were taking a couple days off just to hang out and relax, you know." I nodded.

They really are just regular guys doing what they love to do;" I reliezed, After we had swam around laughing and joking for a few hours. Sure I had known that before but It was different now, It was weird how just a few hours of being around someone could change a person's perspectives so much.

Ike glanced at his waterproof wrist watch, "Tay,we gotta get going for lunch, mom said we were leaving for the restaurant at 1:00 and it's a quarter to." Taylor nodded and began to help Ike get his brothers and sisters out of the pool. He whisprered something to Ike, Issac nodded.

"Hey;" Tay started, "Do you guys want to come for lunch with us?" "Were going to Perkins!" Zac butted in. I looked at Stephanie and we both had the same thing in mind, lunch with Hanson, the polite offer sounded so tempting...

"Well, I don't think your parents would appreciate 2 more people coming along with all your brothers and sisters and all." I said politely. Taylor shook his head, "No, our parents won't mind, the van is big enough for all of us."

"OK...But at least make sure it's ok first." Steph said. Ike nodded as he picked up Mack out of the pool. We got out and followed them back to their room. Taylor opened the door and motioned for us to come in.

"Mom, this is Lauren and Stephanie, would it be ok If they cam with us for lunch?" Taylor asked his mother in hope that he wouldn't embarass her by saying no. Mrs. Hanson walked over and shook our hands, "Hi girls, nice to meet you." she said. I nodded "Nice to meet you too."

Mrs. Hanson looked at her Taylor and smiled, "Sure, were leaving in about 15minutes though." Stephanie nodded, "That's fine, we'll just go get changed fast."

We left to go get dressed for lunch with Hanson and only 15 minutes. We ran to the room and started rummaging throuhg our stuff to find things to wear. I finally decided on my green cargo pants and a white tank top. I got dressed and pulled my hair up into a messy twist and secured it with bobby pins.I slipped on my sandals and layered a bit of my new makeup on. Stephanie came out of the bathroom wearing a short black halter top and dark denimn jeans, I made a face at her clothes as she slid on her platforms. "Oh well I'll let her make a slut out of herself," I decided. We grabbed our bags and went back to the Hanson's room to go for lunch.
