Chapter 19
I lay in bed holding the necklace tightly starring straight at the wall, the minutes on the clock slowly ticked as the tears slowly slide down my cheeks. Knowing there was no point in sleeping, because they had to check out at 11:00am and it was already 7:52am. I lay there, my head feeling as though it would explode with all the feelings and thoughts I had in my head. Right now, I was happier than I’d ever been, and more nervous and sad than I’d ever been. I wasn’t even quite sure if I believed what had happened. I could still feel his warm body on mine, remember every smile, tear and moment we shared together in such as short time period, the thing that made me the most happy was I knew there’d be many more to come. How could all this happen to me??? Barely anything I wanted ever happened right for me. But this….not even in my wildest dreams…….
Soon Lauren decided to get up and get ready.
"Might as well, Steph’ll be up soon anyways." I muttered. I glanced at the clock, 8:32; "They’ve left. That’s it." I thought pulling a dragon print tank over her head. I looked in the mirror, my eyes were red and swollen, I washed my face and splashed some cold water over my eyes for a couple minutes. I walked out to where Stephanie was still asleep.
"Stephanie get up!" I yelled in her ear.
Slowly Stephanie yawned and got up rubbing her eyes "Hmm….Taylor?" I rolled her eyes, "Nope, he’d be considered mine now, Steph;" I thought smirking.
No Steph, they left, you have to get up now" I told her patiently.
Finally she got up, "They left?" She asked sadly.
"Umm….yah, they’re gone, we have to leave soon so you have to get ready;" I told her like her mother would, which wasn’t unusual, Stephanie procrastinated a lot, time wasn’t one of her top priorities.
"Fine:" She said in an exagerated voice and lugged herself outta bed.
Reaching into her bag she shook her head, "Man, did I have a hell of a dream last night, Hooked up with Taylor, too bad it wasn’t real!"
"What a coincidence, I had the same kind of dream….."I told her.
"Really? Kewl." She said not really paying attention pulling out a black tank top.
I swallowed hard and cleared my throat, "The only difference is that mine came true." I told her nervously.
She looked up and laughed, "Yah mine too!" She said shaking her head, "Lauren, I think we should be happy about just meeting them."
I rubbed my tired eyes trying ot figure out how I was going to explain this, "No, uh, I’m not joking, It happened, last night."
"What Lauren, did you get a smile from him during the movie or something? Ohhhh…wow….so did I! Big deal, well actually it is but you know what I mean." She said quickly rolling her eyes.
"No! This isn’t one of our little fantasy jokes! It happened, for me, and Taylor, It was so, intense. I can’t explain it." I said tears filling my eyes.
Stephanie stopped laughing seeing my seriousness, she came over to me and drapped her arm around my shoulder, "Lauren, I wanted it to, we both have had our fantasies about him, and now part of those dreams have come true, maybe not romantically, but come on, look at what we got yesterday…
She said trailing off.
I turned to look at her my green eyes filled with tears, "I know it’s hard to believe, but this isn’t a joke. I can prove it."
Stephanie sighed, "ok, ok Lauren let’s have some fun here, prove it" She said.
I wiped my eyes and pulled Tay’s necklace. "Stephanie, I know it’s soooo hard to believe, but we met last night, really late and he gave me this;", I said opening my hand to reveal the necklace.
She starred hard at it, as though she was trying to figure out if I was maybe by a small chance telling the truth.
"Steph, I would have given it up by now, If you don’t think the necklace proves it, you’ll get proof soon. I didn’t want to tell you because---"I was cut off by her slamming the bathroom door. I expected it though, that she’d be jealous and not happy for me, she was just like that. I heard her burst into a rage of jealous tears. I stood outside the bathroom, "Steph, calm down…"I told her not really knowing what to say. Why couldn’t she just for once be happy for me? She was used to getting everything , the only problem was that she was so overly obsessed with him before she met him that any type of love between Taylor and anyone, rumor or not made her hit the roof. Lauren took a deep breath and began gathering her stuff together, as she heard things smash and banging sounds on the wall. Why did she have to take it like this?
