Jeff Gordon 2003 Race Comments

2-16- Daytona 500-Rain shortened race. Not a very good indicator of what's to come! 12th place finish.

2-23- Subway 400-Got spun out, went a lap down. If not for that, was running real well. Looks like bad luck is looking down on Jeff right now!

3-2- UAW/DaimlerCrysler 400-37th place finish. Caught up in someone elses accident. Have to shake the bad luck off and get down to business next week!

3-9- MBNA America 500-2nd place finish! Need more of these! Almost won this one! Keep it up Jeff. Moved up 12 spots in the championship points!

3-16- Carolina Dodge Dealers 400-More bad luck or just some impatient drivers? First Dale Jarrett runs into the side of Jeff on purpose. Why? He was going a lap down because his car was to slow. Is this any reason for rough driving? Next, Kurt Busch trys to take a run at Jeff and Bangs him. Then the impatients of Elliott Sadler. Probably gave up his chance for a win or 2nd place finish by pulling up next to Jeff and banging him into the wall. Jeff finished 33rd. (Jeff said he hit the wall his self!)

3-23- Food City 500-If not for bad luck, I guess Jeff would have no luck at all! 9th place finish. Led most laps (174). It has to get better!

3-30- Samsung/Radio Shack 500-Better finish (3rd)! Still ran into some bad luck! Should have won this race. Gained 4 spots in the points!

4-6- Aaron's 499-Another top ten finish (8th)! Need a win now!!

4-13- Virginia 500-Win! Win! Win number 1! Moves into 3rd in point standings! Wins from the pole! First pole and first win for 2003!

4-27- Auto Club 500-Jeff should have ran better than 11th! I think there was to many changes to the car during the race. You can't get use to the car when you keep changing it!

5-3- Pontiac Excitement 400-Looks like they just can't make the car handle properly! Where's the problem? Jeff? Robbie? Both? To much adjusting! Drive the car and get use to it! 16th place finish.

5-17- The Winston*-Just not the same old Jeff at the Winston! Finished 8th!

5-25- Coca Cola 600-Who made the decision to come into the pits under yellow in the rain? It only costed Jeff about 20 points! Jeff finished 8th in this rain shortened event.

6-1- MBNA Armed Forces Family 400-Good run! Finished 2nd! Just didn't have enough for Ryan Newman at the end. A late caution and not so good restart hurt Jeff. To bad for cry baby Tony Stewart! Penalized one lap for pitting outside pit box. He still finished 4th, but went to his trailer immediatly after the race to pout!!!

6-8- Pocono 500-Flat tire on 2nd lap! Never did get car right after that. Did finish 13th! At least we don't have to listen to Tony Stewart cry about losing all week again!

6-15- Sirius Satellite Radio 400-Finished 3rd! Probably would have won if not for the late caution as Jeff had built a big lead! We'll never know now!

6-22- Dodge/SaveMart 350K-Great run! 2nd place! Almost as good as the win! Moves into 2nd in the point standings.

7-5- Pepsi 400-Not one of Jeff's best efforts! 14th place finish. Looked like pit strategy was the way to win this race. Lack of yellow lights hampered the pit strategy, and several teams fell into the same trap as Jeff.

7-13- Tropicana 400-Good run. 4th place finish. Should have won this one! Fuel mileage played big in this race.

7-20- New England 300-Should have won this race. Somebody made the wrong call in the pits! Greg Biffle should have been suspended for his rough driving tactics! Deal or no deal, no driver should be allowed to intentionally ram another car! I guess Jeff was suppose to slow down so Tony Stewart could take the lead. Have you forgotten that there is no gentlemens' agreement anymore. Always race back to the yellow flag. Jeff has already been burnt.

7-27- Pennsylvania 500-Bad day. 36th place, DNF! Why? Because of an impatient Dave Blaney. Jeff could only goes as fast as the cars in front of him. There was no call for Blaney to keep bumping Jeff until he finally put him in the wall. Dave you got one coming!

8-3- Brickyard 400-4th Place! Could have possibly won! Penalized for pitting while the pits were closed. Better that, than run out of gas! All due to Dale Jarretts's accident in the pits. This race was Tony Stewarts to win. Who made that call to pit under that late caution Tony? Ha! Ha! Couldn't believe my eyes! Are you collecting a pay check from Childress to?

8-10- Sirius @ the Glen-Didn't stand a chance! Greg Biffel takes Jeff out on first lap! Jeff restarts last and comes back to 3rd and Kevin Harvick takes Jeff out on the last turn of the last lap. Jeff had the best car all day. Biffel has 2 coming and Harvick has one coming also! Jeff needs to retaliate! He can use the same excuse as Biffle and Harvick "I just couldn't stop"! Good enough excuse for them, it should be for Jeff also! I know Jeff is not like that, but he keeps getting burned one way or another, I think it's time for some pay back! Kevin Harvick's team mate, Robby Gordon won the race. He also took a car out on his way to the front. What does this tell you about Richard Childress Racing. If they want to play dirty, then everyone should play dirty right back!

8-17- GFS Marketplace 400-Can't have any worse luck! Finished 30th, 2 laps down! Had a tire go down, pitted and a couple laps later, a caution comes out. That left Jeff a lap down. Never could seem to be in position to get his lap back except once and Kevin Harvick would not let him have it back. You have another one coming HARVICK! Some of Jeff's bad luck needs to fall on Matt Kenseth, if he is going to have any chance of a championship this year!

8-23 -Sharpie 500-Not again! Taken out of the race! Guess Jeff either must be in the wrong place at the wrong time every week or everyone thinks he is a soft touch. Jeff, you'd better start standing up to these guys and pay them back! Week after week they have taken you out. Nascar won't do anything about it, so take care of it yourself! Finished 28th after being spun out by Matt Kennseth! I'm sure it was not intentional, but the out come was the same as the preceeding weeks!

8-31- Southern 500-Only one word for Jeff's luck, and that is BAD! Caught up in another accident. Finishes 32nd.

9-6- Chevy Rock and Roll 400-Good day except for adjusting a car that is running up front, then falls back after the adjustments! How many times do you have to do this? Haven't you learned by now? If it aint broke, don't fix it! 10th place finish. Kevin Harvick got his! Seems like Kevin can dish it out but can't take it. He should be suspended for his actions after the race Saturday night. What a cry baby! Right along with his team mate Robby Gordon. He was whinning to!

9-14- Sylvania 300-Ran out of fuel with 2 laps to go while running 2nd! Finished 19th! Who calculated the fuel? Drops to sixth in point standings. Looks like you can kiss that 5th championship goodbye for this year!

9-21- MBNA 400-Good run. Must have adjusted the car again! That's why Jeff didn't win! Finished 5th. Cry baby Stewart is at it again! Finished 3rd and said he had the best car but his tires were not any good! He lashes out at Goodyear! Tony ran the dog shit out his car and ran the tires off of it and said they were bad tires! He didn't have the best car because he didn't win! I hope Goodyear does not give him any tires next week! He can go to Home Depot and get them!

9-28- EA Sports 500-Another 5th place finish! Might have won if he would have had some help at the end!

10-5- Banquet 400-5th place again! Good consistent run, but we want a win! How is it that Ryan Newman's car goes farther on fuel than anyone else? He can't conserve that much fuel and still do a big burn out after the race! Does he have an extra fuel tank or something?

10-11- UAW-GM Quality 500-Fourth straight 5th place finish! To bad Jeff couldn't have done that all season! Just didn't have the car to win.

10-19- Subway 500-Alright!!! Big WIN!!!! Had the car today! Glad Jeff didn't go into the pits with Earnhart Jr.. Surely, he would not have seen the lead again. Good call Jeff!

10-26- MBNA Bass Pro 500-TWO WINS IN A ROW!!!! Nice to see Jeff back in Championship form, even though it is to late! Moved into 5th in standings. That's 6 top 5 finishes in a row! Had excellent pit stops all day! Hope they can carry this over to next year!

11-2- Checker 500-Finished 7th! Had hoped for a 3rd win in a row! Just didn't have the car today.

11-9- Pop Secret 400-Finished 22nd. Nascar penalized Jeff 1 lap for rough driving! Imagine that! I guess Ryan Newman can just bang into anybody he wants and it is not rough driving. How many times did he bang into Jeff before Jeff finally retaliated? Come on Nascar, what's good for the goose is good for the gander! You should have penalized Newman also! After all he started it. That's not the first time that Nascar has ruled against Jeff this year. Penalize Jeff and let other drivers get away with murder. Maybe Jeff isn't paying the officials enough!

11-16- Ford 400-Finished 5th! To bad Jeff didn't run this good all year! He may have had his 5th Championship! Instead he gets 4th in the standings for the second year in a row! I guess Ryan Newman got his this week! It's about time!!!!
