Crisis speaks of govt's incapability: Sherpao

PESHAWAR - Former NWFP Chief Minister and Senior Vice Chairman, PPP, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao Tuesday said that the present economic crisis spoke of the incapability of present government and to conceal the same such steps were taken which resulted in direct threat to the Federation of Pakistan. 
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, while addressing a delegation of various labour unions which called on him under the leadership of Abdul Rab Sabir, Secretary General, All Pakistan Federation of Labour, Aftab Sherpao said that due to the severe economic crisis it has become impossible for an ordinary labourer to earn livelihood for his children. 
He warned that if the situation remained as such then day the would come soon when they would have to face situation like erstwhile USSR and Indonesia. 
He regretted that health facilities were not available to the poor. 
He added that the government was further deepening the crisis by acting in accordance with the proposals of bureaucracy. 
He added that abolishing the divisional offices and placing its employees in surplus pool would further aggravate the situation. 
The PPP leader condemned the government policy of privatising Khazana Sugar Mills and Pak German Wood Works. 
He added that on one hand large number of labourers were rendered unemployed and General Sales Tax was imposed on shop keepers on the other creating unrest in the society. 
Further pointing towards the incapability of federal government he said that daily new circulars were being issued which were different form the previous one. 
He assured his all out support to the labour unions. 
Earlier, the delegation informed him about the problems being faced by them. 
The delegation also included Mustafa Khan, president, Pak German Wood Works Union, Malik Ishfaque Ali, general secretary, Joint Action Committee, Rickshaw Union, Murad Khan, joint secretary, Rafiullah Khan, senior
