A PERSONAL LETTER AND A HUMBLE GIFT FROM GREECE WITHOUT OBLIGATION

Dear Mr President of the United States of America ,

I am one of the majority of the ten million Greeks living in Greece and the seven million Greeks living abroad , who wishes to WELCOME you , your wife and your daughter visiting Greece - our beloved country - yesterday and today.
Your visit has indeed strengthened our relationship and friendship more than ever before.
Let me also say that I regret and apologise to you for the very few acts of violence fulsome young demostrators did to express their opposition to your policy.
They were an insignificant minority.
I praise you from the depth of my heart for your fabulous speech addressed to the Greek Nation. I was moved indeed when you said "WE ARE ALL GREEKS"!

I was touched when you admitted that the Greek migrants in America are first class citizens and had contributed immensely to the development and progress of the U.S.A. This is the reason why I am taking the liberty of sending you my book with my compliments and best wishes to you and your family.
There are no strings attached to that. I hope you like it and find a relaxing time to read it. The whole theme of my book after living in Australia for the last 42 years as a migrant , is that not only the Greeks in Australia and all over the World are first class citizens, but all migrants regardless of nationality. They all have contributed a lot to the development and progress of the countries to which they chose to immigrate and adopt as their new country to work, bring up their family & enjoy FREEDOM , DEMOCRACY, PEACE AND PROSPERITY.
From your speech to us in Athens , my impression is ,that you do have the same as above principals and concepts about migrants , as being CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. If this is correct and that is how you feel about this issue, I wonder if you will be prepared before the end of your glorious term of office as President of the United States of America, to consider your Government to submit to the United Nations General Assembly a proposal to consecrate a " MIGRANTS' DAY " as a public holiday world wide ,in appreciation of migrants being first class citizens-CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. Such a proposal and action ,I believe from you and your Government, will make you the the most popular leader of the centrury and the history would declare you as the greatest humanitarian of the lillenium.
I would be very honoured to have your comments about my book and this matter.

Yours faithfully ,
ALFRED KOURIS
