Game Boy Advanced in Stores Today!

By: Matt Aromando
6/13/01

Game Boy Advanced released Monday, June 11th but is into stores today. It is the most evolved version of the Game Boy series. It has a 32-bit processor, which is the same as Playstation. The screen is 50% bigger than on Game Boy Color and has roughly twice the possible colors as GBC.

Some people would think that it would have some drawbacks from GBC such as size and weight, but GBA is almost the same size and weight as GBC. To the human senses, GBA and GBC would weight the same. Another amazing thing about Game Boy Advanced is even after all the new enhancements from GBC, it still uses 2 AA batteries and even has a longer battery life by five hours for a total of fifteen hours.

The video game library of Game Boy Advanced will be one of the biggest of them all because it plays all Game Boy Color and original Game Boy games! It is also fully compatible with all Nintendo GBC accessories. GBA will even connect to the Nintendo GAMECUBE, which releases November 5th 2001 in the U.S. One of the best features GBA will have is its capability to connect to three other GBA's for four player gaming.

Game Boy Advanced is a must buy. It will even come in handy when Nintendo's GAMECUBE comes out this fall. The graphics are astonishing, multiplayer games will be fun for groups of people, and the large video game selection will never bore you.
